🚨Xcel vs. DP… what’s the difference?🚨

If you’re new to gymnastics, this can feel confusing fast.

Here’s the simple breakdown:

DP (Development Program / Compulsory Levels 1–5):
– Everyone does the SAME routines
– Focus is on strong basics + proper technique
– Judged very strictly on form and ex*****on
– Built to create a solid foundation for higher-level gymnastics

Xcel Program: (bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, sapphire):
– Athletes have CUSTOM routines
– More flexibility in skills and progression
– Still competitive, but a different structure

👉 Neither is “better.”
They’re just different paths.

We focus on what is best for each athlete.

Most people ask, which one is higher or better?
The better question is:
Which one is right for my athlete?

Gymnastics is a year-round sport—and that’s part of what makes these athletes so incredible. 💪

Progress in gymnastics isn’t built in a single season. Strength, flexibility, confidence, and skill all take consistent time and repetition to develop. Year-round training allows athletes to safely build on their skills, stay conditioned, and continue growing without starting over each season.

It’s not about doing more—it’s about steady progress over time.

That commitment is why gymnasts are some of the most disciplined, resilient, and determined athletes you’ll ever meet. And it’s pretty amazing to watch. 🤍

🟨 Xcel Levels Can Be Confusing… Let’s Clear Things Up! 🟨

Ever wonder how two gymnasts can both be Xcel Gold… but look completely different?

One might be doing kip cast clear hip…
Another is doing pullovers and back hip circles.

👉 And both are correct.

Here’s why:
Within every Xcel level, there are really three stages
🔹 Beginner
🔸 Intermediate
⚫️ Advanced

All in the SAME level — Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum.

➡️ That’s why one Gold might compete a roundoff back handspring layout…
while another is doing a roundoff back handspring.

Both are valid. Both are progressing. Both are Gold.

✨ This is also why gymnasts can stay in the same level for years and STILL be improving.

👉 Don’t stress the label — trust the process.

NGA Focus Friday đź’Ą

State Championships aren’t about doing more…
they’re about doing the little things better.

This week, lock in on the DETAILS:
✨ Toes
✨ Shapes
✨ Landings
✨ Confidence
✨ Finish

Because those small things?
They’re what separate good from great.

đź’ Ask yourself:
“What can I clean up today that will make a difference on the competition floor?”

One detail at a time. One routine at a time. One champion mindset. 🏆
