🤸 PARENTS: WHAT DOES “A GOOD PRACTICE” ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE?

Sometimes your gymnast comes out of practice excited because she got a new skill.

Sometimes she comes out and says:

“We did the same thing AGAIN.” 😂

And honestly? That might have been the better practice.

Because gymnastics isn’t built on how many new skills you can get.

It’s built on how well you can do the ones you already have.

The straight legs.
The pointed toes.
The tight body.
The landing that doesn’t move.
The handstand that hits the same place over and over.
The routine they can do when they’re tired, nervous, or having an off day.

New skills are exciting.

But repetition is where good gymnastics is made.

So if your gymnast says, “We worked basics AGAIN today…”

Good. 😉

Her coaches probably know exactly what they’re doing.

❤️ Gym parents — what’s the one “boring” drill or basic your gymnast has done approximately 10,000 times?

To our amazing gym parents… 💙

We see you.
Driving to practice. Sitting through meets.
Hauling grips, water bottles, snacks, and leotards.
Juggling schedules. Making sacrifices.
Cheering from the stands—even when your heart is racing more than theirs.

You may not be the one flipping on the beam or swinging bars…
But you are every bit as committed to this journey.

You’re the support system.
The late-night pep talks.
The tear-wipers, the confidence-boosters, the ride-or-die fans.

You are the reason your gymnast gets to chase big dreams.
And whether they say it out loud or not—they feel your love in every moment.

So from all of us:
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for believing in them.
Thank you for being part of our family.

We couldn’t do this without you.

📣 To the parents worried about levels and groups…

Your gymnast didn’t “fail” because they didn’t move up a level.
They didn’t get “left behind.”
This isn’t school—gymnastics isn’t one-size-fits-all. 🙅‍♀️📚

In school, everyone moves grade to grade together.
In gymnastics? Everyone is on their own personal journey. Some need more time to build confidence, strength, or master key skills—and that’s perfectly okay.

🌟 Some gymnasts will fly through levels.
🌟 Others will spend extra time building rock-solid foundations.
🌟 Some will grow fast. Others will bloom later.

None of that is failing. It’s just different paths to the same mountain.

Progress isn’t always about moving up.
It’s about moving forward—with better technique, better focus, stronger mental game, and more love for the sport.

So if your child is still in the same level or group as last year—celebrate that.
They’re still showing up.
They’re still working hard.
They’re still growing. 💪💖

Their story isn’t behind. It’s just uniquely theirs. And it’s going to be amazing.

💬 Parents… please ask questions.
Gymnastics is like learning a foreign language. If you don’t understand something, that’s okay—you don’t know what you don’t know.
I love when parents ask questions. I’d much rather explain a skill, show you what your gymnast is working on, or help you understand the process than have you leave feeling confused or frustrated.
Coaches are teachers at heart. We don’t just love teaching gymnasts—we’re happy to teach parents, too.
So if you’re ever wondering about something… just ask. ❤️
