Tonight left us truly speechless.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to EVERYONE who came out and supported First Responders Go Bananas. The love our community poured out for the Cox and Kramp families was overwhelming. They felt every hug, every cheer, every prayer, and every act of generosity. Because of all of you, we raised incredible funds to help support both families through treatment. We cannot thank you enough.

A huge thank you to Mount Vernon City Schools for graciously allowing us to use the baseball field and for making sure we had plenty of portable restrooms! With the amazing turnout, they were definitely appreciated. Justin, thank you for everything you did to help make tonight happen!

Thank you to Knox Foodies for organizing an incredible lineup of food trucks. You all kept everyone fed, and our community showed up in a big way. You practically sold them out! 🥳

A special thank you to Emily Morrison for capturing every special moment. We cannot wait to share all the photos and relive this unforgettable evening.

Thank you to Air Evac for making such an unforgettable entrance by delivering the game ball and bringing the helicopter for everyone to explore. It was an experience so many families will remember for years to come.

To our announcer, Greg Bennett, and our umpires, Doug Wilson and Tom Clinedinst, thank you for donating your time and helping everything run so smoothly. We truly could not have done this without you.

Shout out to our dancing banana, Mayson Garrett Fike, along with all of the Krajenski, Fike, and Hoar kids for running chaos cards all over the ballpark. And a special shout out to Jackson, who not only played in tonight’s game but also kept everyone entertained with those fantastic Fire Department score updates!

Most importantly, thank you to the Mount Vernon Police Department and the Mount Vernon Fire Department. Every player on that field gave up their own personal time to support one of their own. Your willingness to serve does not stop when your shift ends, and tonight was a beautiful reminder of that. A special thank you also to Nick Myrda, who absolutely crushed it running the donation area all evening.

If there is one thing we hope everyone takes away from tonight, it is this:

We are one family.

Police and fire may love to compete, tease each other, and battle it out on the field, but when one of us hurts, we all show up. That is what happened tonight. The City of Mount Vernon Police Department and Fire Department stand together, always.

To everyone who donated, volunteered, sponsored, laughed, cheered, bought food, purchased chaos cards, or simply showed up, thank you for reminding us just how incredible this community is.

Tonight was about so much more than a softball game. It was about love, family, and standing together when it matters most. ❤️💙

Every great game needs someone to keep the fun rolling… and tomorrow’s First Responders Go Bananas game is no exception!

Meet your hosts for the evening, Ben & Halle Fike! They dreamed up this wild and wacky event with one goal in mind: bringing our community together to support two families who need us now more than ever.

What started as a fun idea has become an opportunity for firefighters, police officers, friends, families, and neighbors to rally around Officer John Cox and Michelle Kramp as they continue their battles with cancer.

Expect plenty of laughs, a little friendly chaos, some questionable softball skills, and memories that will last long after the final out. But most importantly, expect a community showing up with love, generosity, and support.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, volunteered, sponsored, and shared this event. We can’t wait to see you all at the ballpark!

They protect and serve every day… but tomorrow they’ll be protecting the infield (hopefully 😅) and serving up some friendly competition!

It’s time to meet the members of Team Police as they prepare to battle it out against the firefighters in what promises to be an evening full of laughs, big plays, and unforgettable moments.

While the competition will be fun, the mission behind it is what truly matters.

This event is dedicated to supporting the families of Officer John Cox and Michelle Kramp as they continue their battles with cancer. Every person who attends, donates, cheers from the stands, or shares this event is making a difference for these incredible families.

So come out ready to laugh, cheer, and support two families who need our community now more than ever.

🚒🍌 IT’S TIME TO MEET THE FIRE CREW! 🍌🚒

The wait is over! It’s time to introduce the lineup that’s trading fire hoses for softball bats at tomorrow’s First Responders Go Bananas game! 🔥🥎

Over the next several posts, you’ll meet the firefighters who have bravely volunteered to put their softball skills (or lack thereof 😉) on display for a great cause. Expect big swings, questionable athletic decisions, plenty of laughs, and a little friendly rivalry!

But beyond all the fun, tomorrow is about something much bigger.

Every cheer, every donation, and every person who comes out to support this event will help benefit the families of Officer John Cox and Michelle Kramp as they continue their battles with cancer. Your support means more than words can express, and together we can remind these families that they are surrounded by a community that stands with them.

Tomorrow night, we’re trading routine for ridiculous, uniforms for softball jerseys, and seriousness for a little bit of chaos, but only for one evening.

Behind all the fun is a cause that means so much to our Mount Vernon Police and Fire families.

Our brothers and sisters are rallying around John Cox, who is courageously battling Stage IV cancer, and Michelle Kramp, who is courageously battling Stage III cancer. These are two incredible people with amazing families who are facing challenges no one should have to face alone.

Official reveal!!! This is the design on the shirts that our players will be wearing.

We know what you are thinking, " wow that's the coolest shirt of all time and I really really want one !

Good news 👏 we will have a t shirt vender on site during the game that will be printing and selling these! They will be available in red or blue so you can show your support to your favorite team during the show.

Every shirt will be made to order and all profit goes directly to the cause !!
