UK HealthCare Sports Medicine is honored to recognize Brittany Martin, as the 2026 UK HealthCare Athlete Trainer of the Year!

Brittany earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science from the University of Arkansas in 2022 and continued her education there to complete her Master’s Degree in Athletic Training in 2024.

Brittany chose to pursue athletic training at the high school level to stay closely connected to a wide variety of sports while making a lasting impact on student-athletes - not just in competition, but in their futures and lives beyond high school. She has been working with UK HealthCare Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine as the athletic trainer for Montgomery County high School for the past 2 year. Brittany always goes above and beyond for her student-athletes, walking them through every step of the recovery process. Brittany is kind, compassionate, and committed to making sure they receive the best care possible.

Her favorite part of the job is the unpredictability. No two days are ever the same, and each day brings new challenges, unique injury situations, and opportunities to continue learning and growing while caring for student-athletes.

We are proud to announce our varsity team’s cumulative GPA. The majority of these young men take rigorous course loads in addition to being 39th District champs & 10th Region runners-up. Averages include every student-athlete’s full GPA, not just this semester.

Congratulations to senior Colton Kenney who competed in the KHSSCA All-State Games yesterday at Spalding University in Louisville. Kenney was selected for the East All-State 2nd Team and competed against the West All-State 2nd Team.

A season plagued with injuries ended on a high note as Indians Soccer finished 39th District Champs and 10th Region Runners-up. MoCo will return 8 starters from the region final for the Fall 2026 season and hope to continue the soccer tradition in Montgomery County that began in 1978 at Mt. Sterling Elementary and later in 1983 in the first varsity season at MCHS.

This week’s Dawg of the Week is Charlie Hughes of Montgomery County Boys Soccer ! 🔴⚪️

Charlie showed heart, grit, and pure DAWG mentality during the Region Tournament, leading the Indians all the way to penalty kicks in the Region Championship against Bishop Brossart. 💪⚽️
