Originally we set out to make a film about the Appalachian Trail from a first time thru-hiker's perspective in an attempt to make peace with the loss of our dearly departed friend, but along the way we lost the original goals of the trail, and found our deeper, true calling. Balu and Hives: A Tale of the Trail is as much a coming of age story of two hikers as they find themselves falling in love a

s they stumble around the oldest mountain range in the world, as it is an educational piece promoting economic reform and cultural development in an environmentally friendly way through long distance thru-hiking.

Hey friends! Thank you so much for following our adventures over the Appalachians. I'm sorry we've been silent and not sharing all the footage and trail logs of our journey. Shortly after finishing the Canadian extension of the IAT, Balu and Hives ended their journey together. It has been the most difficult thing to edit and stare at pictures/videos all day that shine on the brightest moments of my life. Post-trail depression is real. Dallas is a big city and it's been a difficult transition back into the societal norms, but this is not the end. I'm working again, which has been the biggest boost of self-esteem, and re-inspired to share this epic tale with you all again! Only this time, I'll tell it my way, raw, and from my heart. Starting Thursday this week, there will be bi-weekly blog posts on www.ATaleoftheTrail.com sharing different stories from the adventure of a lifetime. Thank you all for your patience and love!
