Carolina Evo Softball- 12u

Well our 12u journey started yesterday and I couldn't be any prouder of these little ladies!! Showed up at 7:45, as we we were first game of the day, and ending up leaving at 9pm after playing under the lights! Every team we played threw a great pitcher at us, but our bats were on fire all day! We faced some very talented teams but Ended up going 1-1 in pool play and gave up 11 runs, so knocked us to 6 seed and Silver bracket. The girls got down but battled back to make the championship after excellent small ball ex*****on. Championship game was back and forth the whole time, and actually set our self up to tie it or win it, but just they made a great play and lost it to Riptide Elite 6-5. The girls left everything they had on the field. We sat for so long waiting, and were running on fumes. But they never gave up!!

Super proud of Silver bracket runner ups for their 1st one! So proud of the effort, their attitudes, and them executing my play calls and trusting me to call the game to set them up to succeed!!

ONE TEAM, ONE GOAL. GET BETTER.

At the end of the day it's more than softball! It's about memories. It's about friendships. It's about girls being girls. It's about life!! After practice today, the Evo girls came back and enjoyed what really matters! And that is those girls and families, right there by their side through it all. It's the laughter, it's the smiles, it's the bonding, its the no pressure let's do us, bc at the end of the day its just a game. It's the, "I am more than a softball player, I am doing life with my besties".

Pool party to round out the summer before we are back on the field next weekend!

This weekend we took on TG World Series 3 day Open tournament to close out our 10u season. Got one of the toughest pool play draws, but we battled the heat and just couldnt come out on top to tough competition until the final pool play game dropping us to silver. These girls have been in Gold bracket every weekend since sometime last year, thats just our expectations, but we fell this time and thats ok!

It was truly scorching hot 3 days in a row, but the girls Came out ready to play after Friday. The defense was stout, pitching was unbelievable, bats were hit or miss at times, but battled to the silver championship and finished it off with a win too, for Silver Bracket Champs, finishing 4-3 on the weekend.

10u was a season of growth. I challenged the pitchers that I would NOT pick up a guest pitcher, I gave them resources for a pitching coach, and it was on them to put in the work, get better, show you want it, produce, get in situations and figure out to get out of situations. Face adversity dead in the eye, bc as a pitcher you HAVE to. And they did. A year and a half, 0 guest pitchers. I dont know many teams at ALL that can say that!!

57 wins, 34 losses, 4 ties.
Scored 657 runs and allowed 413.
Our pitchers faced 1,625 batters, stricking out 461 while walking 358.

I would say thats a successful developmental stage of 10u!!

Here we come 12u!

The Evo girls decided to take a mountain trip for the weekend at Battle of the Turf. Yesterday it didnt feel like mountain weather, it was so dang hot. The turf was burning the bottom of our feet, even having the morning games. But the girls were even hotter, with the bats and pitching being on fire. Went 3-0 on the day, scoring 36 and allowing 3. But the 3 runs knocked us to 3rd in the Gold behind Team NC and Mission.

Back at it today with Mission up first, and forgot the bats at the hotel. The pitching still on fire keeping our heads above the water until the bats came. Went to ITB and was able to score, then them being home team, we had to battle their knockout punch. So what do we do? Throw them out trying to fake bunt and stealing 3rd. Take it 2-1 to go meet Team NC in the championship. A Tough, stout Team NC at that. Took one on the chin 8-3 to finish the weekend.

So dang proud of the grit and fight from them. So dang proud of never giving up. So dang proud of finding the barrel. So dang proud of trusting my pitch calling, and hitting their spots!! So dang proud to coach these ladies!!

The memories, the team bonding, the pool games, the family time, the girls smiling ear to ear and having so much fun meant way more than the game and the rings.

1 more 10u stop and here we come 12u.

These girls brought the HEATTTT to the mountain air today! 🏔️

Wrapped up pool play 3-0 today and ready to cool off by the pool and get cranked up for bracket tomorrow ! 💪🏼

Proud of the girls yesterday for their effort and attitudes! We were the very first game of the tournament and ended up being the very last team standing. Going 4-0 on the day, these girls showed what grit, toughness, and teamwork are all about.

The heat was relentless, the sun was beating down, and we had a long break in the middle of the day, but this team never made excuses and never backed down. We started out a little slow at the plate, but once the bats came alive in Game 2, there was no looking back!
Our pitchers battled all day long, competing pitch for pitch and giving us a chance to win every inning. Behind them, the defense was rock solid, making plays when it mattered most and shutting down rallies.

Most importantly, these girls stayed together, stayed focused, and kept fighting from the first pitch of the morning to the final out of the championship game. 🏆

Back at it this weekend in Asheville!
