Congratulations to THREE of our Pre-ECNL BU12 players, Fitz Lee, Bear Byrd and Brendan Phelps, on being invited to compete as guest players with Charlotte FC Academy in this past weekend’s ECNL International IberCup! 🔥

The inaugural ECNL International IberCup took place over Labor Day weekend (September 4–7, 2026) at WRAL Soccer Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. Over 140 domestic and international youth teams from 18 countries came together for 7v7 mini-games in the U11 and U12 boys age divisions.

IberCup was founded in Portugal in 2010 with the vision of creating an international youth soccer tournament that could bring together teams from different countries and cultures, becoming a global meeting point regardless of culture, gender, or religion. Over the years, the project expanded across multiple continents, introducing new tournaments, player development pathways, coaching education initiatives, and international programs. Today, IberCup has become one of the world’s leading youth soccer platforms, welcoming thousands of teams and more than 100,000 participants every year.

More than just competition, IberCup is a connected global ecosystem that transforms fragmented needs into real international opportunities.

Earlier this month, ECNL Boys 2012 forward, Wyatt Cannon, traveled to England to compete with the id2 National Selection Team on their international tour! 🔥

The id2 National Selection International Tour is part of a multi-stage progression for targeted players. Over 12,000 players, born in 2012, were scouted by US Club Soccer’s scouting network.

In February, at the id2 National Training Camp, more than 200 players participated in a week-long camp in Chula Vista, California. Then, the player pool narrowed further to about 70 players, who competed at the id2 National Selection Camp in Fairfax, Virginia.

From these camps, players - 18 boys and 18 girls - were selected to id2 National Selection boys and girls teams, the final element of programming. Selected players traveled internationally to train with each other and compete against some of the world’s best academy teams.

Numerous professional players are former id2 National Selection team members, including: Christian Pulisic, Lindsey Horan, Tim Weah, Trinity Rodman and Tyler Adams.
