Since Monday this week, our 24 members of the club have run 80 miles collectively!

Here's a shot of the top 10 leader board for the week so far.

The goal is to motivate each other to build a healthy habit of logging miles and pursuing an active lifestyle. You know... Positive Peer Pressure πŸ˜‚

If you want to join the club, it's FREE! All you have to do is sign into strava and search for the "Snyder Strength and Conditioning Run Club" under the groups tab. The more, the merrier!

Once you've joined, lace up your running shoes and start logging your miles. With consistency, you'll be amazed how quickly the miles add up!

We are currently training to run the 5k/10k race on September 16th.

There's still plenty of time to train 😁. If you're interested in running with us, message me for the link and details on the race. We'd love to have you join us!

We had a great morning working with the Connellsville High School football team at their stadium and training facility!

Big thanks to the coaching staff and boosters for giving us the opportunity to work with these athletes.

It was our job to give them some fresh perspectives and to push their limits past what they believe they are capable of. They all did an incredible job working through a pretty grueling training session.

We were impressed by their intensity and work ethic, and it was an absolute pleasure working with such a great group of athletes.

Every sport. Every athlete. πŸ’ͺ

If you are an athlete, you will improve your performance if you incorporate strength training into your schedule.

It doesn't matter what sport, strength will help you become better. You will perform better, and you will reduce your risk of injury.

You don't need to practice your sport 7 days a week if it means not having the time to get to the gym. Skip a practice or two, and start working on your strength.

Now, I'm not saying that it's necessary for all athletes to have a 600lb deadlift, or bench press 300+... I'm talking about training for practical and functional increases in total body strength.

Strength training has to be a part of your life from a young age, and it has to be a cornerstone of your training both in season, and in the off-season.

If you're not making time to add strength training into your schedule, you're missing out on a big part of reaching your potential as an athlete.

Find yourself a gym, get yourself a competent, educated trainer, and start working on your strength. You will notice the difference in a very short time.

You want to lose weight?

Follow this simple advice.

It doesn't matter if it's whole grain, homemade, organic, or whatever else B.S. marketing ploy you've been led to believe is healthier for you.

Bread is not good for you.

If you disagree, I'm sorry, but you need to do more research. 😁

πŸ’Š Do you take vitamins/supplements?

While, I am not a nutrition expert, I do a ton of research on the topic for my own personal benefit and health. It's a constant evolution of knowledge. I'm not ever sure I'm 100% correct, but I'm always reading, listening, and learning. πŸ“–

I also try to refrain from giving unsolicited diet and nutrition advice, as I believe it's a deeply personal and individualized journey. What works for me, doesn't necessarily work for everyone.

My professional life revolves around strength and conditioning (and wrestling) coaching, but without proper nutrition, you're not going to reach your full potential, no matter how hard you work in the gym.

I encourage you to do your own research, eat whole foods, cut out processed garbage, and experiment to find what works for you. I do believe that you should take vitamins and supplements to fill in the gap. It's really hard to get all of your daily required nutrition from your food alone, which is where supplements come in.

I don't currently get paid to sell or promote any supplements, and I am constantly learning and trying new things. I don't always take the same stuff, but I try to keep it simple and I don't take anything unless I know it is clean and useful.

These pictures are what I am currently taking on most days of the week. I'm human, so sometimes I forget to take them with me... Like on the weekends, when I'm not in the gym πŸ˜‚.

Comment below and let me know what you are currently taking, or your opinion on the confusing and convoluted topic of supplementation. πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

The sun makes everything better.🌞

From mental health to vitamin D benefits, there are so many reasons to soak it up daily!

Be careful not to burn, and if you're out for prolonged periods, make sure to protect yourself from overexposure. That will negate the positive effects, and cause more harm than good.

I try to take a break between clients, and get out in the sun for at least 20-30 minutes each day. I eat my lunch, read a book, or just take a walk. If you're ever driving down Main Street in Mount Pleasant during lunch time, you've probably seen me sunning myself like a lizard πŸ˜‚.

No, I'm not trying to get a tan... I'm doing it for the health benefits. Being stuck in the gym all day, under the florescent lights is not very good for me, so I try to at least get out for a little each day and feel the sun on my skin.

It makes a huge difference in my overall mental and physical health.

Happy Friday everyone!
