We had the absolute privilege of a lesson from Sensei Jeff Wigand, a Judo Coral Belt, tonight! He stopped in to share some wisdom with our beginner class and it was very much appreciated. Thank you, sir!

We are beyond proud of everyone who participated in yesterday's District Championships, as well as those who qualified but were unable to compete!Whether you came home with memories, lessons, medals, or some combination of all three, know that you represented yourself and the school beautifully all season! And here you have it, the 2026 District Championships are over! There is a lot I can continue to improve on going forward, but I'm very happy with how things went. In the end I came away with a 3rd in Weapon Forms, and 2nd in Combat Sparring and Sparring. It was a long day but a good one. I think all the practice was worth it, if only because I went into the day feeling confident about my level of preparedness.

No workout today as it's time to travel. But here's a bit of a combination pep talk and 'why do this' spiel for you. Even if I don't come home with any medals tomorrow, all the training is still worth it. Invest in yourself. You're worth it!

I didn't get much of a chance to film today, but here are a few snippets of my form practice. I'll get some more work in tomorrow, then Friday will be a rest day and Saturday will be the competition.

Warming up with forms after work, then straight into Jiu-Jitsu. I really appreciate all my rolling partners being willing to adapt to working with a smaller partner.

Only a handful of workouts left before competion day. At the very least I know I've put in the work. (Jiu-Jitsu and stretching not included in the video today.)

Kept it to just Jiu-Jitsu tonight. Not exactly a rest day, but sometimes it's worth taking a quick mental break from the material you're cramming.
