Congratulations to Warrior Within’s two new blue belts, Luke Sawyer and Dale Smith. Luke and Dale have put in a ton of time on the mats. They are first ones in and at every class, soaking up knowledge and sharpening their swords! They earned these blue belts! Give them some love when you see ‘em. They are committed to a tough thing!

What a day! We took 4 competitors over to Norton Shores for Saturday! We linked up with , our affiliate and got busy! Our team ended up 1st Overall, 1st Adult Gi, 1st Teen/Kids, and 2nd Nogi.

Warrior Within contributed with 2 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze amongst our 4 competitors! As a coach, a teammate, and a friend, I am incredibly proud of our team both as a whole and our group in Shepherd! We have trained hard together and will continue to do so!

Day 2 of training with the Isabella County Jail. We hosted two more practical jiujitsu sessions for them as a part of their regular training schedule. It was awesome to work through each of the scenarios with the officers and talk about the day to day situations they deal with.

We received great feedback from the sheriff and we hope to be back for more training in the future!

Day 1 of training with the Isabella County Jail! We were invited to lead combatives training this week. We covered a broad stroke of technique. An assailant in front of or behind you, being pinned to the floor, and using top pressure to ensure we can keep control. We taught a morning and afternoon class. Thursday we will teach two more classes.

We look forward to a long term relationship with the county jail. A big part of what we do at Warrior Within is investing back into our community. Through self defense seminars and law enforcement training we get a chance to help strengthen Isabella County!

We held a women’s self defense seminar on Silent Saturday for Child Advocacy. We raised $120 dollars for them and helped encourage some ladies to train and be more equipped for life’s struggles!

Giving back to our community is a huge part of our mission as a team. Come hang out and help us grow our community!
