The Lady Pride 16u team kicked off their fall season with a tournament win at the Newtown Rock Fall Invitational Tournament. The team went 4-1-1 for the weekend. Every player collected hits and RBIs. Julia Serena had 2 homers to go along with 5 RBIs, Athena Hadjipanayis followed with 4 RBIs and 2 doubles, Sophia Mangone, Shannon Blake, Zoe Sala, Julia Tucciarone and Maggie O'Hare each chipped in 2 RBIs. Samantha Sanchez played a solid 3rd base and came up with timely hits. Sabrina Reichelt and Cassidy Fernandez were solid in center and left field, as well as coming up with timely hits in pressure situations. Frankie Reyes threw a runner out from right field trying to score to go along with her triple.
The team battled all weekend, losing to the host team, The Rock National team, 2-0 on Saturday and came back to beat them 4-2 in an elimination game on Sunday.
In the final on Sunday the girls played tough and never gave up, battling to the end. The game ended in a 3-3 tie and was called due to darkness in the top of the 9th inning.
Both teams were named co-champions.
Pitcher Shannon Blake gave up 8 earned runs in 4 games while striking out 9. Way to go ladies!!!

Proswing Lady Pride’s 16u won the ADKSC Summer Blast this past weekend in Lake George going 6-0-1.

It was a total team effort. The team pounded 65 hits, scoring 57 runs.
Shannon Blake and Alyssa Bucci manned the circle combining for 6 wins and 19 strike-outs while giving up 15 earned runs. Julia Serena sparked our offense batting .500 which included 5 homeruns, 1 being a grand slam and 19 RBIs. Athena Hadjipanayis, Janilsa Dorville, Samantha Sanchez, combined for 7 doubles and 17 RBIs. Zoe Sala contributed 3 doubles as well as a home run to go along with 10 RBIs.
Julia Rogovic gathered 6 hits and flashed some leather with her diving catch in right field to stop a rally.
Julia Tucciarone manned 2b like no other and was part of an inning ending double play that halted another rally. Lia Muscat added a timely sac fly RBI and played a solid left field and was robbed of a homerun. Lastly, Sabrina Reichelt’s speed reeked havoc on the defense as she went 11-16 with her perfectly placed bunts, she also manned center field and stopped a few rallies with her timely catches.
The team hopes to continue their success next weekend in Cape May, NJ.

Congratulations is in store for the 14U Lady Pride Blue for winning the End of Summer Sizzler in East Hartford CT. The girls have been working extremely hard and it is great to see the work pay off as it did this weekend. All the best girls. Keep up the good work
