📣 We are ready to kick off another season of Thunderbolt Track & Field.
Our goal with starting the Sharp Speed and Sport Thunderbolts has always been:
*to grow youth Track & Field in Wilson County
*to allow kids to experience individual competition
*to help kids who want to work on their speed and running technique
Practice: Mondays & Thursdays at Wilson Central High School from 5:45 - 7:15PM, weather permitting
Please note — practice schedule may vary a bit March 1 - 14
Changes will always be communicated via Group Me.
Competition: We will focus on the outdoor track season which will involve some travel and several meets in middle Tennessee. Your athlete can compete in as many, or as few meets as they like. We expect to compete into early June.
Event focus: 60M, 100M, 200M, hurdles, Long Jump, Shot Put, Turbo Javelin, introduction to pole vault
Ages: We have found the appropriate age range for this level of training and competition is 5th - 8th grade.
Costs:
Training: $150 (covers the entire season)
Uniform: est. $100 (optional)
Meet Registration: typically a meet will run $35 per athlete - we will collect this per meet
Misc: track spikes (not required, but recommended for competition - we have found the best deals on runningwarehouse.com)
Payments can be made by cash, check to Sharp Speed & Sport or Venmo
