Interested in playing a Fall sport? Join us Aug 1st @ 7 pm in the high school auditorium for an informational meeting about the 2023 season. Followed by presentations from sport specific booster clubs.

Congratulations Emma!

The Mount Joy Rotary Female Student of the Month for March is Emma Myers, daughter of Christina and Steve Myers, of Mount Joy. Emma is a member of Mini-THON, Debate Club, Key Club, Chess Club, Quiz Bowl and Science Olympiad. She is on the Track and Field, Cross Country and Swimming Teams. She has the honor of being inducted into the National Honor Society and the National Math Honor Society. Emma is a Peer Tutor, a Pathways Ambassador, and a Link Crew Leader. Outside of school, Emma is involved with club swimming in both the winter and summer seasons. She is working hard towards earning her Gold Award in Girl Scouts, which is the highest achievement within the Girl Scouts of the USA. Her plans after graduation are to attend college to major in Biochemistry and ultimately, she would like to attend medical school to become an anesthesiologist.

The Mount Joy Rotary Male Student of the Month for March is Akilan Murugesan, son of Karu Murugesan and Komalasri Karu, of Mount Joy. Akilan can be found on the court with the Tennis Team. He has the honor of being inducted into the National Math Honor Society and National Honor Society. He is a Peer Tutor, a Link Crew Leader, and participates in Debate Club and Chess Club. Outside of school, Akilan keeps busy volunteering at Hershey Hospital and playing tennis. After graduation, he plans to major in Biochemistry, pursue a degree in Oncology, and continue research against Cancer.

The Mount Joy Rotary Female Student of the Month for February is Anna Brubaker, daughter of Tony and Rebecca Brubaker, of Mount Joy. Anna is a member of Mini-THON and the Track and Field Team. She has the honor of being inducted into the National Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society. Outside of school, Anna keeps herself busy Babysitting and working on the family farm, Brubaker Farms LLC. Anna is active in her church youth group, Common House Youth. They will be heading to Honduras this summer on a missions trip. Her plans after graduation are to attend Penn State Harrisburg to pursue a degree in Business Administration. Her hopes are to join the family business, Brubaker Farms, LLC.

The Mount Joy Rotary Male Student of the Month for February is Dylan Lenhart, son of Mary and Kirk Lenhart, of Marietta. Dylan can be found on the track with the Cross Country and the Track and Field Teams. He has the honor of being inducted into the National Honor Society and the Math Honor Society. He is also a Peer Tutor. Outside of school, Dylan keeps himself busy working as a cashier/order-taker at McDonald’s and a cart pusher at Giant Food Store. He enjoys running and watching movies and educational/recreational videos. After graduation, Dylan is planning to attend college to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy

CONGRATULATIONS to our senior high runners on their fantastic LL League results.
The boys turned in great races and will send 4 runners to the District III meet. Good luck to John Spackman, John Hinkle, Braden Bistline, and Cadel Barber.
The girls team took first place in the AA standings and had 2 medalists. Molly Myers finished in 9th and Kathryn Fernald was 18th.
Good luck at Districts to our lady harriers!!

Congratulations Zach!

The Mount Joy Rotary Female Student of the Month for October is Lauren Fernald, daughter of Christy and Chad Fernald of Mount Joy. Lauren’s musical talents can often be observed on stage while participating with the Jazz Band, Concert Band, Choir, Rhythm Singers, Donegal Performing Arts and at Choir Festivals. She has had the honor of being inducted into the National Honor Society and attends the Prayer Group. You will also catch Lauren on the field or track while playing on the Soccer Team and Track and Field Team. Outside of school, Lauren is a Nursery and Junior Church Assistant at Calvary Bible Church. She also attends Youth Group and is on the Worship Team. Lauren has learned valuable work experience as a babysitter and also as a commercial office cleaner. Her plans after graduation are to receive further training in wedding planning/coordinating and in the overall hospitality management industry.

The Mount Joy Rotary Male Student of the Month for October is Zachary Karpel, son of Beth and Sean Karpel, of Mount Joy. Zachary’s excellence in academics has led to his memberships in both the National Honor Society and Math Honor Society. His leadership ability is observed as he has been chosen the president of the Math Honor Society and captain of the Cross-Country Team. He is a member of the Track Team and Ski Club. Outside of school, Zachary has gained valuable work experience at Rufus Brubaker Refrigeration, an HVAC/R company in Manheim and also as a bicycle mechanic at Bicycle Outfitters for the last 3 years. He is also working towards his Autodesk Inventor User Certification, which is an industry-recognized credential that can effectively start students' careers as designers, engineers, and makers. It enhances students' higher ed applications and resumes by providing the evidence of competency and proficiency. He also attends youth group at his church and serves on Mission trips. After graduation, Zachary is planning on attending Liberty University to major in Mechanical Engineering.
