Luke's Assist

Luke's Assist Through donations, we provide free sports equipment for kids participating in youth sports.

Not every assist happens on the court - some happen in the community. Luke Sanders is a rising 5th grader at Rankin Elementary working on a community service project for Safety Patrol. He has been playing sports in Mount Holly for the last 6 years which has been a big part of his childhood. He has also been walking to the Old Gym after school for the last 3 years to play ball with friends. He knew

he wanted to incorporate sports and the Old Gym in his project and then came the idea of a sports equipment donation closet. The goal is to give every child the opportunity to participate in youth sports without the expense. Luke's Assist sports equipment closet will provide free sports equipment for youth sports.

We have some exciting news to share!

📣 NEW LOCATION 📣
Due to the overwhelming amount of donations and the generosity of Mt Holly Rec, the closet now has a new and bigger location in the Old Gym. We are so excited about the new space and hope to continue growing and assisting more of our youth with their sports needs.
See video for new closet location.

📣 NEW HOURS 📣
We are also excited about new extended hours during basketball season!
The new hours will be:

Thank you for checking out Luke’s Assist!

The goal is to give every child the opportunity to participate in youth sports without the expense. Luke's Assist sports equipment closet will provide free sports equipment for youth sports.

We just need your help….

Donate your new or gently used sports equipment to assist kids signing up to play the sports offered through the City of Mount Holly: soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball and flag football.

We will be collecting donations immediately at the Old Gym and Tuckaseegee Community Center.

The donation closet will be located in the Old Gym and expected to open in July!
