Feel a funk or rut coming on? 🫠 Whenever I have days of feeling like I’m coming into a bit of a funk or rut, I like to ask myself these questions to help me move out of it.

Self awareness is a huge key to developing your relationship with yourself so you understand how to adapt to the changing needs or phases of your life 🧘🏽‍♀️ Change will always be a constant, meaning what we need, feel, or experience will evolve over time. What you needed last year might not work for the person you are right now.

Take time to check in with yourself using these questions/journal prompts to understand WHY you’re feeling the way you are, and HOW you need to pivot for the highest good of your overall wellness. Allow yourself the flexibility to adapt with the changes so you can keep growing, moving forward, and not get stuck 🌱

Is your self criticism hindering your progress? 💭

How much power are we unconsciously giving the past over our present and future moments? Paralyzing yourself from moving forward because you “failed” at something before.

Face these experiences & learn from them—but don’t let fear, anxiety, or self doubt get in the way of you taking meaningful action in your present moments. If something didn’t work out the way you thought it would, take what you can learn from it & try again as many times as you need to. The only time we experience true failure is when we stop getting back up.

Currently I’m about 10lbs smaller than I’d like to be, and I’ve definitely lost some noticeable size over the past few months. I could let my criticism for taking a few steps back paralyze me, or take it for what is is and follow my plan to get back where I want to be.

You can choose to feel bad for not being where you want right now, or you can choose to take action to get where you want to be. Both are hard. Both require a lot of mental, physical, and emotional energy to be invested. But only one will lead to progress.

By this time of year, some people may be feeling overwhelmed with the "resolutions" or goals we set at the start of the New Year. Going into a new phase can be exciting, so I'm providing some tips on setting goals you can actually stick with for the long-term.

This is the process I follow when setting personal goals, as well as for my clients during our coaching calls & check-ins. Goal setting isn't saying "I want this or that" and acting without intention. Effective goal setting involves getting clear on what you want, creating a realistic action plan, regularly assessing behaviors around the goals, and intentionally acting with consistency & perseverance.
