Today we remember the tragedy of September 11th, 2001.
We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless heroes who stepped forward when our country needed them most.
But we also remember what came next.
On September 12th, we woke up as Americans. We stood together. We looked past our differences and found pride in something bigger than ourselves. Our flags flew a little higher, our communities stood a little closer, and the idea of what it meant to be an American felt stronger than ever.
As coaches, teachers, and mentors, it is our responsibility to make sure the next generation understands not only the tragedy of 9/11, but also the unity, courage, and patriotism that followed.
Some may never be able to fully understand what it felt like to live through that day. But we can remember. We can teach. And we can carry forward the spirit of September 12th.
Today, and every day, we .
