Congratulations to William Saunders for receiving the Servant Leadership Award from the NCSAA! It has been an honor to watch you grow in your faith over the years and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for you as you graduate.
SERVANT-LEADERSHIP AWARD
William Saunders - Gilead Christian School (Mount Gilead, OH)
"William has always been everyone's biggest supporter for the boys basketball team. He would often check in to see how each of the players are doing and would even ask how the coaches were doing as well. William is one of the biggest contributors during the team devotions by asking specific questions to help others take part to drive the conversation further. He would also be the first to volunteer to run the scoreboard for when our elementary teams would play to support those age groups as well. William was nominated because of how he has been a servant for the entire program and also his community. He has gone on mission trips and helped with a book bag giveaway at his church where he would pack those bags with school supplies for those in need. His leadership also showed by helping all of the varsity players get organized during a team service project they did by helping to hand out clothes and gifts to the needy during Christmas."
The NCSAA Servant-Leadership Award is presented to senior athletes from our member schools who exemplified leadership by serving their teammates and opponents, displaying Christlike character in their competition, and interacting with others with a deep commitment to building them up. Thank you for leading and serving, William, and for being dedicated to demonstrating Christ's sacrificial love.
