Diane Deveney-Bacher
65 years old.

Half Ironman finisher.

This weekend Diane completed Eagleman — 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run.

I could say a lot about how impressive that is physically, because it is.

But what I love most is what this represents:

Discipline. Consistency. Grit. Showing up for yourself year after year.

Diane is proof that strength, endurance, and big goals do not have an expiration date.

So proud of you, Diane. You are an absolute badass. 👏

You don’t need a new program every week.
You don’t need 47 weird exercises.
You don’t need 2 hours in the gym.

You need the basics.
Done well.
Repeated long enough to actually work.

That’s not flashy, but it changes bodies

Healthy kids lunch idea that’s actually simple:

Organic chicken sausage with mushrooms
Ezekiel bread with grass-fed cheese
Spinach + tomatoes

Nothing fancy. Just real food that helps their bodies do what we’re constantly asking them to do.

The chicken sausage gives them protein to help keep them full and support growing muscles.

The mushrooms, spinach, and tomatoes give them vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants to support immunity, energy, and overall health.

The Ezekiel bread gives them a better carb source with more fiber and nutrients than regular white bread.

And the grass-fed cheese adds protein, calcium, and healthy fats for growing bones and brains.

I’m not perfect with my kids’ food every day.

But I do make sure im checking the basics:

Protein.
Color.
Fiber.
Vegetables at every meal
Real ingredients.

Because healthy kids don’t need complicated food.

They need food that helps them feel good, grow strong, focus better, and build habits they can carry with them.

This is one of my favorite things about training young girls.

Not because they need to “get in shape.”
Not because they need to change their bodies.
Not because fitness should be another pressure put on them.

But because they get to learn something so many women spend years trying to believe:

Your body is capable.
Strength is confidence.
Movement can be fun.
Taking care of yourself is normal.

These two sisters are learning how to move, how to work hard, how to encourage each other, and how to feel proud of what their bodies can do.

And honestly, that matters.

The goal is to raise girls who know they are strong, capable, resilient, and allowed to take up space.

That starts young.

And this is exactly why I always remind people: progress doesn’t have to be dramatic overnight to be real.

3 inches means her body is changing.
Her consistency is working.
Her strength is building.
And she’s proving to herself that she can do this.

So proud of her for showing up and putting in the work.

This is what happens when you stop waiting for the “perfect time” and just start. 💪

The biggest mistake I see young baseball players make?

They only work on baseball.

Do players need more swings?

Absolutely.

Do they need more reps?

Absolutely.

But they also need a stronger body behind those swings.

Strength.
Speed.
Power.
Mobility.
Confidence.

The athletes who improve the most don't just practice their sport.

They train their bodies to perform better in their sport.

That's what athlete performance training is all about.

We all lie to ourselves.
Make up stories about who we are and what we can do.
But you dont need anyone's permission to evolve
To discover parts of yourself previously hidden
To try new things
To challenge the assumptions you have about yourself.

When I started dating Paul, he told me once

"Meg you dont get better at things you dont do"

That sounds obvious to most people but I had always believed if I wasnt naturally great at something that i shouldn't do it.
That if I couldnt do it it was because I sucked.
I was deficient
And I shouldn't embarrass myself by pursuing things out of my lane.

What a small, scared way to live.
When Paul told me that, it opened up another way of thinking for me. I could try and not be perfect and try some more and get better.
I could enjoy things I wasnt great at.
And if I kept with them, I could improve.

And I could change not only what was possible, but how I saw myself.

Dont let the stories in your head get in the way of the things deep down you know you want to do.

(And try to find a partner that loves you enough to push you forward in life. And does so with kindness instead of belittlment)

We need to raise the standard on middle age because this time of life can be AMAZING.

But it starts with making time for yourself again.

Summer has a way of making moms put themselves dead last.

Kids are home. Schedules are weird. Vacations pop up. Weekends are full. Everyone needs something.

And it becomes really easy to say, “I’ll get back to myself in September.”

But September-you is not magically going to have more energy, more confidence, more strength, or more motivation if June-you keeps abandoning herself.

And we all know...after summer is back to school, the holidays, activities....life doesnt just settle down

You do not need a perfect schedule.

You need something that is realistic enough to actually do.

A few focused workouts a week. Accountability. A plan. A place where you don’t have to think so hard about what to do — you just show up and do the work.

Because summer is going to happen no matter what.

You can go through it feeling like you are barely keeping up...
