We invite you to join us in celebrating the life of Frank Magri on Sunday, September 14th, 2025 at 3:00pm at The Big Mine Rink. Frank was a beloved and cherished member of the Crested Butte Community, and all whose lives he touched are welcome to attend. In true Frank fashion, food and refreshments will be provided—complete with his favorite, cheeseburgers (and plenty of ketchup). Please come share memories, laughter, and love as we honor his remarkable life.

We wanted to reach out to say thanks to everyone that supported the 43rd annual Crested Butte Ski Patrol Community Fundraiser! We had over 600 people come out for the party and not only was it a fun evening but together we raised over 36,000 dollars! Which is the most we have ever raised! All of the proceeds from the fundraiser will be given to community members in need, in the form of grants.

If you or someone you know, in the Gunnison Valley, is experiencing any form of hardship including; injury, medical diagnosis, family or financial issues or any number of other challenges, please nominate yourself/them for a grant to help with these hardships.
Nominations can be made at
https://cbsp.betterworld.org/
The nomination window ends on this Friday, 2/21, so get your nominations in soon! It can make a big difference for someone in need and is a gesture from the community to show that we care about each other!

Also - since the Attitude Adjustment party it finally snowed!! We opened Teo bowl and Spellbound and are working on getting Wall to Wall!
See you on the hill!

Please consider supporting the family of Jim Harlan, donations will be used for memorial expenses incurred by Jim's family.

Jim was a proud member of the Crested Butte Ski Patrol acting as our dispatcher for over 20 years. He was the only quadriplegic ski patroller in the world and a Hand Cycling gold medalist. He was a comedic jokester that brightened every call to dispatch. Everytime we heard his early morning avalanche control siren call (made with a cup that he tore the bottom out of) we excitedly knew that the forecast was calling for a powder day the next day. It’s what we all live for on patrol.

He was a beloved Stepping Stones pre-school teacher, great dancer (watch your toes!), and all around great guy. He and his smiling baby blue eyes will be missed dearly.

Hey wonderful people! We here at patrol wanted to warn everyone that tomorrow (March 3rd) most lifts are likely to be delayed. Silver Queen, Paradise and the T-bars could likely shut due to extreme winds, delaying our progress towards opening terrain.

Please bear with us as we work our butts off to get terrain open!
