A Modified Kind of Night | Clay Nation Racing

Two months off. Two classes in one night. Marcus is back — and this time
he's not just driving the Street Stock, he's climbing into an Open
Wheel Modified for the very first time.

First laps go about as well as anyone could hope. A helmet strap has
other plans mid-heat, but the car — and the driver — hold up fine.
Qualifying's clean. The feature's a genuine learning night, cut short
by the heat rather than the results.

Meanwhile, the six-car's got its own night going. A friend of the team
climbs in to get a read on a Street Stock that's been off pace all
year — and finds out the hard way exactly what that ride's been like.

Two cars, two stories, same team, same night.

Shock Absorbed | Clay Nation Racing

Marcus and the crew find something in the shock package that shouldn't
be there — a mismatched part patched together from whatever was on hand.
It gets them through hot laps and qualifying (P6), but the night saves its
real test for the end.

A late-race caution restart turns into contact with Dylan Hannah's #81 with
just a couple laps to go — bumper torn off, front end already banged up
from Talladega. What follows isn't a shouting match. It's a genuine,
unscripted conversation between two drivers who both handled it right.

And because racing always gives you a bonus — the night closes on a little
mini-drama that has nothing to do with us at all.

We’re back! 🏁🔥

Sorry we’ve been quiet on the page lately—between the rain, bad weather calls, and mother nature not working in our favor, it feels like it’s been forever since we’ve had a chance to post or get on the track.

That all changes this weekend! We’re heading to Volunteer Speedway this coming Saturday night, and we’re coming back in a big way.
We’re pulling double duty—running the Street Stock like usual, plus a surprise second ride in a car we’ve never driven before.

SEASON-BEST FINISH! 🏁

What a night at Volunteer Speedway! Marcus and the brought it home in 5th place — our strongest finish of the 2026 season, and we'll take it!
No damage, no drama, just a clean, hard-fought race from green to checkered. 🙌

The best part? As far as we can tell, we were the top GM 602 Crate car on track tonight. Every car that finished ahead of us tonight was running open motor power — stout stuff to run that close to it on a crate engine.

Uncle Bobby has been amazing with all the fine tuning of the setup in the past month. Any success we experience here on out is because of his relentless work on the car and advice to Marcus every race.

Great night, great crew, great racing. Thanks for coming out and following along! 🔴⚡
