๐Ÿง ๐Ÿค“ We are incredibly proud to announce that BOTH our indoor and beach volleyball teams have once again earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2025โ€“26 season!

The AVCA Team Academic Award recognizes programs that maintain a year-long GPA of 3.30 or higher, but our Vikings didnโ€™t stop there. Both programs also earned the distinction of AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll status, placing them among the top 20% of GPAs nationally within their divisions.

Excellence at Berry extends far beyond the court, and these accomplishments are a testament to the discipline, commitment, and work ethic our student-athletes demonstrate every single day. We couldnโ€™t be prouder of the women who made this possible. ๐Ÿ’™

This summer, Berry volleyball athletes Andrea Hurt, Madie Whitehead, and Keira Kruk, alongside assistant coaches Rachel Ford and Molly Bergin, traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as members of the USA Division III Brazil Tour. Throughout the trip, the group competed against talented Brazilian athletes, experienced a new culture, and represented both Berry and Team USA on an international stage.

โ€œTraveling to Brazil gave me the opportunity to experience a completely different culture while seeing some of the most incredible places Iโ€™ve ever visited. From Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain to a World Cup watch party on Copacabana Beach, every day brought something new. Experiencing the passion and joy of Brazil gave me an even greater appreciation for the opportunities volleyball has given me.โ€ โ€“ Keira

โ€œOne of my favorite parts of this trip was competing alongside some of the top Division III athletes in the country while facing incredibly talented Brazilian teams. Senior Outside and Beach Split, Keira Kruk, and senior Beach Split, Becky Blaydes, spent part of their summer in Ecuador through Berryโ€™s nursing program. During their time abroad, they served in free clinics throughout several villages, provided care to hundreds of patients, and experienced firsthand the impact that compassion and service can have on communities around the world. โ€œThe Berry Nursing School gave us the opportunity to study abroad and work at free clinics in Ecuador while also sharing the gospel. Over four days, we served patients in four different villages, helping provide care and distribute eyeglasses to those in need. This experience reminded me why I chose nursing. Witnessing the gratitude and kindness of the people we met put so much into perspective and left me even more grateful and excited for the future.โ€ โ€“ Keira

Junior Beach Volleyball Split Blocker, Kaylee Howell, spent part of her summer studying abroad in Osaka, Japan, through Berryโ€™s Education Department! During her time overseas, Kaylee helped plan and teach English lessons in elementary, junior high, high school, and university settings while immersing herself in Japanese culture. โ€œEarlier this summer, I was provided the opportunity to study abroad in Osaka, Japan, with Berryโ€™s Education Department. During this time, we planned and taught English lessons in elementary, junior high, high school, and university settings. This experience challenged me not only to grow as a teacher but also as a learner as I explored new methodologies and immersed myself in a different culture.
Beyond the classroom, we visited historic sites and had the opportunity to connect with local communities, expanding my worldview and strengthening my confidence as an educator.
