Mt. Baldy – Sunday 2/22

Full operation today with the exception of Chair #2.

Conditions are strong across the mountain and the views are exceptional. Chair #1 is open with runs to the parking lot for advanced and expert skiers and riders — with surprisingly good coverage.

Chair #3 on Thunder is skiing beautifully. Skyline and Toilet Bowl to Bonanza are groomed and in excellent shape. The remaining terrain is off-piste with wind-affected areas, obstacles, and occasional bare spots. Please ski and ride with caution.

Chair #4 is off-piste with similar conditions.

Scenic rides are available.
No snow play up top.
Hiking trails remain closed.

Get out of the zoo and onto the mountain.

See you up here. 🏔️

SATURDAY 2/21 – ALL TIME AT BALDY ❄️🌌

While the city sleeps… we’re up here working.

Pushing & making snow. Digging out getting the Westside ready.

This is what it looks like when the crew puts in the hours so you can have the turns.

We’re heading into the weekend in near full operation at Mt. Baldy Ski Lifts Inc. (Chair #2 down awaiting parts), but Chairs 1, 3 & 4 are ready to deliver.

🔥 Westside (Chair #4) opens Saturday
🔥 Turns all the way to the parking lot
🔥 Groomed beginner access on Thunder (Chair #3)

Snow starts around 5,000 ft — the whole canyon is a winter wonderland.

No snow play inside the resort (plenty along the road), Scenic Rides running to the Notch for views & hospitality, and hiking trails outside the resort remain closed.

Big thanks to everyone who came up Thursday & Friday — it was epic.

We love delivering The Goods at this magical little big mountain.

See you on the mountain. 🏔️

Mt. Baldy Mountain Report – Wednesday Morning

Another 2 FEET overnight ❄️🙌 The storm cycle keeps delivering and conditions are stacking up across the mountain.

That said — this was a very windy storm. Some areas are extremely loaded while others are scoured and still bare. Patrol and Ops will be assessing terrain today, so expect a more detailed conditions report later.

Due to unexpected weather-related maintenance issues with Chair #1, we will not be able to open today.

Lift Maintenance crews are on it, and we expect the issue to be resolved by the end of the day. Ski Patrol will begin avalanche control work using our passenger snowcat to prepare for a safe and timely reopening tomorrow.

With more snow forecast for Thursday… this weekend is lining up to be all-time.

See you on the mountain.

❄️ Mt. Baldy Mountain Report – Tuesday Afternoon ❄️

The storm cycle is delivering.

We’ve picked up 12”–14” of new snow so far, with the heaviest cells still forecast to push through tonight. Temps are dropping this afternoon and we’re expecting snow levels to fall to the village — potentially even lower overnight if this system keeps tracking.

The crew continues to dig out and we’re hopeful for an opening tomorrow. Lift tickets are available starting Wednesday, but please plan for a delayed opening — 11AM at the earliest as storm work and terrain assessments continue.

Please note: Rentals will not be available at this time.

We’re banking on the storm to keep producing tonight to push us fully over the hump and get more of the mountain online.

Stay tuned for updated storm totals as they come in…

We’ll see you on the mountain

Mt. Baldy Mountain Report ❄️

4–6” of new snow so far
from the first round of the storm.

It showed up a little later than forecast…
but it delivered. 👊

Crew will be on the mountain tomorrow
digging out from wave one
and assessing conditions across the hill.

More snow is stacked up
over the next 3 days —
with the bulk of it lining up
Tuesday night.

Colder temps move in with this next round,
bringing lower elevation snowfall —
typically lighter, drier,
and quicker for us to dig out.

Stay tuned as this cycle unfolds…

See you on the mountain.

Today’s Mountain Report ❄️🏔️

A couple fresh inches landed at the top of Thunder last night as we watch this weather pattern finally start to shift for the better.

We’ll be OPEN for Scenic Rides to the Top of the Notch this weekend, and we anticipate having enough freshly made snow up top for some solid snow play as well.

Despite current trail closures — Mt. Baldy is OPEN.
Mt. Baldy Road is open.
The Mt. Baldy Lodge is open.
And this Saturday you can ride scenic to the Notch and get your snow fix at the top.

Looking ahead… things get interesting 👀

Starting Sunday afternoon, colder storms begin stacking up, bringing a well-welcomed return to winter. If this pattern shapes up the way it’s looking, we could be shredding SoCal’s raddest mountain by next Wednesday.

Stay tuned for updates — and we’ll see you on the mountain.

Mountain Report 11/20
🌄 MT. BALDY MOUNTAIN REPORT
The highly active weather pattern over the past week has delivered a ton of precipitation to Southern California and the local mountains. We kicked things off with over 6 inches of rain before temperatures began to fall and the snowpack started to form.
Above 7,500 ft (just below the Notch), the storm laid down a very dense, very firm base layer as temps bounced between snow, sleet, rain, and back to snow. After the main system moved through, we picked up 3+ inches of lighter snow on top of that solid 2–3” foundation.
Tuesday and Wednesday nights were strong snowmaking nights, and that effort alone is enough to open Snow Play and Chair #2 for skiing and snowboarding first thing SATURDAY morning.
❄️ Storm Update: Thursday Night into Friday
The big story now is MORE SNOW.
This dynamic, swirling system has been tough for forecasters to nail down — some model runs push totals well over 12 inches, while others taper off with only a few. What is certain is that something is happening now, and we’ll be ready for what is delivered.
Look for an update on Friday afternoon for the storm totals and any additions to our operating plan.
☀️ Looking Ahead
The weekend forecast looks clear and dry, and the extended outlook through the Thanksgiving holiday is shaping up nicely.
