Whole foods contain wide variety of nutrients more than supplement powders, and studies have shown the complexity to be more beneficial to your overall health.

Assess your current diet, daily lifestyle habits, and how much sleep you are getting before adding multiple supplements. Increase your intake through food if possible.

Magnesium is required for energy production, cellular growth, muscle contraction and protein synthesis, regulates blood pressure, and improves glucose metabolism and markers of insulin sensitivity.

Research published provides evidence that magnesium plays role in optimizing vit D levels. Without sufficient magnesium, vit D cannot be metabolized.

The pictures helps with diet changes that increase magnesium intake to meet RDA of 400-420mg foe males, 310-320mg for females.

Training for muscle growth, do you supplement with either BCAA or EAA to improve recovery and gain muscle mass?

The 9️⃣ essential amino acids (EAA) help to build and retain muscle the body can not produce. It is most effective at stimulating muscle protein synthesis with a synergistic effect occurring with resistance training.

EAA include the branched chain amino acids (BCAAs), leucine, isoleucine and valine. Adequate leucine and all EAAs are required to stimulate muscle protein synthesis and build muscle tissue. If EAAs are consumed to maximize MPS, BCAA are likely unnecessary. If the totally daily protein intake is lower (1.2 g/kg), then BCAA may be beneficial.

Supplementing with adequate amount of EAA and leucine may maximize MPS and reduce muscle soreness. This may be particularly helpful for people restricting calories while attempting to maintain muscle tissue with lower protein intakes. 💪

Plateaus happen when energy cannot be created or destroyed, the calories intake matches the body’s daily expenditure.

Even though a plateau has occurred, changes can be implemented to restart fat loss. Here are some strategies ➡️

🔹Re-asses daily caloric need
🔹Food log every bite and drinks consumed
🔹Take one week break from training
🔹Change exercise routine
🔹Move more
🔹Increase water intake

These are few of the strategies, when it comes to health and fitness, it’s always important to have a clear plan that includes both long-term and short-term goals with regular assessment of progress!

Appropriate interpretation of the 🔢 on the scale -

Before you step on the scale consider this, in the last 24 hours have you ➡️
▪️Eaten later
▪️Slept worse
▪️Consumed more salt
▪️Felt more stressed
▪️Ate more fiber
▪️Done more hypertrophy work to large muscle groups

After you see the number on the scale-

Men-consider all variables above and compare to previous measurement.

Women-consider all variables above and compare to measurement from your last menstrual cycle.

Variables can cause the scale to change in either direction from day to day. For women menstrual cycle is a big factor, for weight loss goal it’s best to compare only to the same point in the prior cycle.

Also remember muscle gain and fat loss can happen at the same time!

The scale can be effective for data but try to remember the big picture of variables to use it appropriately. Remember it’s a small % of your overall health and wellness!
