Habersham County Schools have now been closed for a full week as winter weather impacts continue across the county.
School officials say 25–30 roads remain unsafe due to icy conditions, trees hanging over roadways, and low-hanging power lines. Because of those hazards, transportation leaders do not feel it is safe to place school buses or student drivers on the roads.
➡️ Schools are closed for students on Friday, January 30.
➡️ Staff should report at 8:30 a.m. or when safe to do so.
➡️ Teachers and staff will focus on lesson planning and preparation ahead of the next storm forecasted for Saturday.
➡️ Parents will have the opportunity to pick up learning materials on Friday, with details coming directly from schools.
