As some of you know, I took in and purchased Gunner from Suzette a couple years ago. I have a student who loves him but on Sept.23 he came in dead lame with a small cut. After 3days on antibiotics and stall rest he was no longer bearing weight. We had X-rays done and low and behold, he had several fractures in the cannon bone and broke the splint bone. Stall rest, daily leg wraps, him eating said wraps so changed to vet wrap instead of polos. Second pictures are fromNov24. Slowly the bones are knitting. Two more months on stall rest then another reevaluate to small paddock 1hr turnout to start getting him stronger. It’s been a long road but thank God he loves being in his stall, no drugs with unlimited hay.
