🍂 While many traditions have changed over the past 60 years, the spirit of the Autumn Leaves Festival has remained the same.

In the early days, visitors enjoyed wrestling matches, square dances, fiddlers conventions, airplane rides, and even industrial exhibits. Today, downtown Mount Airy comes alive with live music, handcrafted goods, delicious food, and fun for the whole family.

The traditions may evolve, but celebrating our community will always be at the heart of the Autumn Leaves Festival.

🐴 Before the streets of downtown Mount Airy filled with festival-goers, they welcomed something a little different... a week-long Wagon Train!

For decades, the Wagon Train marked the beginning of the Autumn Leaves Festival and became one of its most beloved traditions. While its final ride was in 2002, it remains a cherished memory for many who grew up attending the festival.
