Thrilling Thursday Has Exciting News!

We are thrilled to announce that this incredible student has accepted our invitation to join the Black Belt Champions program!

By making the commitment to earn her Black Belt, she has shown that she embodies the true spirit of a martial artist.

Students are invited to join Black Belt Champions when they consistently demonstrate the qualities of a Black Belt. This includes consistent attendance, respectful behavior, impeccable dojo protocol, a positive attitude, excellent focus, being a fantastic training partner, and always training with great spirit and energy.

We are incredibly proud of this young lady for showcasing these outstanding qualities, and we can’t wait to see how she will continue to grow through her martial arts journey. Keep up the amazing work!

The Law of Dominant Thought teaches us that what we think about most can influence our attitude, our actions, and ultimately our results. When we constantly tell ourselves, β€œI can’t do this,” we are more likely to become frustrated or give up when something gets difficult. Instead, we can train our minds just like we train our bodies by choosing thoughts that encourage patience, confidence, and perseverance. This doesn’t mean ignoring challenges or pretending everything is easy; it means choosing not to let negative thoughts take control. Whether we are learning a difficult technique in the dojo or facing a challenge outside of it, our thoughts can either hold us back or help us move forward. This week, pay attention to your dominant thoughts and remember to turn β€œI can’t do it” into β€œI can’t do it yet.”

The moment they have worked toward for years is almost here! πŸ–€

On Friday, September 25th, our 1st Degree Black Belt Candidates will take the floor at our Fall 2026 Black Belt Extravaganza and demonstrate the skills, determination, discipline, and perseverance they have developed throughout their martial arts journey.

Earning a Black Belt is so much more than earning a new belt. It represents years of hard work, countless hours of training, challenges overcome, lessons learned, and the decision to keep going when things weren't easy.

For some of our candidates, this Black Belt represents the achievement of a goal they set years ago. Their journey at Tristar will come to an end with an incredible accomplishment they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.

For others, this is only the beginning. They will continue their journey toward 2nd Degree and beyond, setting new goals and continuing to grow as martial artists and as people.

Regardless of where their journey takes them next, we are incredibly proud of every single one of these candidates. ❀️

We hope you will come out and support them as they put on an amazing show and, at the end of the evening, are presented with the Black Belts they have worked so hard to earn.

There will be no regular classes on Thursday, August 27th due to Promotions.

Students who are promoting should attend the Promotion for the color belt they are currently wearing.

Please make sure to:
βœ…οΈ Arrive 10 minutes early
βœ…οΈWear a freshly washed, neat uniform
βœ…οΈHave the Tristar patch sewn on your gi top

Important Safety & Parking Information:
🚫 DO NOT pull into the parking lot to β€œcheck for a space.” If you can’t see one from the street, it’s full.
🚫NO dropping students off or picking up at the door.
🚫NO parking along the fence in the lot.
