We’re kicking things off at 9AM as Gold Star Post 191 Prime takes on Post 295 in a doubleheader.

After Prime wraps up, we’re honored to host ITD 13U for another exciting doubleheader. Even more special — our favorite SAL member and Post kid, Grayson, will be taking the field! 💚💛

Gold Star Post 191 Baseball was proud and honored to host the 2026 Armed Forces Slugfest 15U Tournament this weekend.

This event was about more than just baseball—it was an opportunity to honor the brave men and women who have served our country while bringing together talented young athletes, families, coaches, and communities for a great weekend of competition.

Congratulations to all of the teams that participated and to our 2026 Armed Forces Slugfest Medal of Honor Champions! 🏆

We are grateful for the opportunity to honor our Armed Forces and look forward to making this tournament an annual tradition.

For those who served, for those who sacrificed, and for the next generation of leaders—thank you.

⚾️🇺🇸 BASEBALL IS BACK AT LINDSAY BROWNING FIELD THIS WEEKEND! 🇺🇸⚾️

It all starts TONIGHT at 6:00 PM as our Gold Star Post 191 Junior Prime Team takes on Damascus Post 171 Juniors in what promises to be a great American Legion matchup!

Then the action continues all weekend as we proudly host the Armed Forces Slugfest 15U Tournament. With 9 games between Saturday & Sunday beginning at 8:00 AM each day, there will be plenty of competitive baseball, great memories, and exciting action on the diamond.

⚾️ Lou Gehrig Day – Honoring a Baseball Legend and American Legion Baseball Advocate ⚾️

Today, Gold Star Post 191 Baseball joins the baseball community in celebrating Lou Gehrig Day, honoring one of the game’s greatest players and a man whose legacy extends far beyond the diamond.

Known as the “Iron Horse,” Lou Gehrig embodied the values that define American Legion Baseball: integrity, sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and dedication. While Gehrig is remembered for his incredible accomplishments with the New York Yankees, many people don’t realize he was also a strong supporter of the American Legion Baseball program during its early years.

In 1927, Gehrig participated in one of the first American Legion Baseball World Series events, helping bring national attention to a program dedicated to developing young athletes both on and off the field. His involvement helped establish a tradition that has impacted generations of players, including many who have gone on to serve their communities, their country, and the game of baseball.

As members of Gold Star Post 191 Baseball, we proudly carry forward the values Lou Gehrig championed nearly a century ago. Today we remember not only his remarkable baseball career, but also his courage, humility, and commitment to helping young players grow through the game.

“Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth.”

Thank you, Lou Gehrig, for the legacy you left for baseball and for American Legion Baseball.
