Made the short drive up to Uncle Doug’s shop in Nebraska to drop off the engine for the Diggin Deep Deere! After a few years of working it pretty hard it’s time for Doug to work his magic. As long as he doesn’t find anything catastrophic he will have this motor in tip top shape.

Headed home now, thanks Jenna Terry for keeping me entertained the whole drive!

With this cold Kansas weather the pulling tractors have some company! Lots of baby calves are waddling around the shop these past days getting warmed up!

Finally getting some work done on the tractors as Brent has his motor out and ready to come apart, and Tyler has started checking his over for smaller things that could be issues later on! Can’t wait for some warm weather as we are starting to get the itch to go pulling!

Today we had a few unneeded setbacks while trying to get the “In Too Deep” motor put back together. Starting out we realized that we had the wrong set of main bearings for Tyler’s motor (both motors are different). We tracked down a set of bearings and had them overnighted from Iowa. We decided to take the burnt piston from last season off of its rod, when looking through the hole in the piston the rod seemed alright but after taking it apart we decided not to put it back in. After some phone calling we had a rod overnighted in the mail as well. After all of this we spent the afternoon making a ring square and then gapping rings. Lastly, this evening we got close to finishing up the data logger setup on the “Diggin Deep Deere”. We have to thank Doug Paddock for all the great work he is doing to help get these tractors ready for next weekend.

Make sure and follow along for more updates!
