Good morning everyone,
First and foremost, we want to sincerely thank all of our sponsors, friends, families, fans, and our community for being part of what we have built with J.D.S. Racing. None of this would have been possible without your support.
As several of you may already know, on Sunday night we experienced a devastating fire at the shop, which resulted in a total loss of the structure. Along with the building, we lost all tools, equipment, parts, apparel, team files, and everything related to day-to-day operations. Two vehicles and one race car were also completely lost in the fire.
The most important thing is that no one was seriously hurt, and no other structures on the property were destroyed. No one was inside the shop at the time of the fire. However, one team member — our good ole “mother hen” — did suffer minor injuries after seeing the fire start and trying her best to save what she could from the shop and cars. The structure went up so quickly, within minutes, that it became overwhelming, and law enforcement thankfully forced her to retreat for her own safety.
There is something about a mother’s love that will always put fear aside to do everything possible to protect and help. We are beyond grateful for her heart — and even more grateful that she is okay and did not suffer anything more serious.
Our car haulers, tool trailer, and other vehicles were untouched, as they were located on the other side of the property. Two race cars that were parked outside sustained minor damage but were able to be moved during the fire and saved.
We are not sharing this post to ask for donations or assistance. We simply want everyone to know that until further notice, J.D.S. Racing will not be racing. Our immediate focus is cleanup, debris removal, and restoring essential utilities such as water and electricity to the property. Those are our top priorities right now.
As each team member continues balancing normal work and family responsibilities, our team page may be quiet for a while during this period.
