MCAA RAISING MATCHING FUNDINGS FOR 2022 A COMMUNITY THRIVES GRANT - Please considering a donation of $1, $5, $10, $15, $20, $50 or $100 as we will obtain matching funds for any donation!

More than 60 Wisconsin nonprofits have applied for 2022 A Community Thrives grants and are raising matching funds required for final-round consideration. The fundraising program kicks off July 18 and continues through Aug. 12.

A Community Thrives is the fundraising and grant-making initiative from the Gannett Foundation. This year, there will be 16 project grants nationwide, including three $100,000 grants; seven $50,000 grants; and six $25,000 grants.

A total of $1.3 million in community operating grants — which start at $2,500 each — are available to entrants with community operations in Gannett's markets. In Wisconsin, that's communities served by these Gannett-owned publications: the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; Green Bay Press-Gazette; Appleton Post-Crescent; Oshkosh Northwestern; Fond du Lac Reporter; Sheboygan Press; Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter; Wausau Daily Herald; Stevens Point Journal; Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune; and Marshfield News-Herald.

Grants are awarded for specific projects or for operating funds. To qualify for final consideration, nonprofits must raise either $3,000 or $6,000 in matching funds, depending on their size. Fundraising begins July 18 and ends Aug. 12.

Here's how the grant applicants in central Wisconsin say they would use the money. To donate to a group's drive for matching funds, you can click on the group's name below to take you directly to their fundraising page, or you can search applications nationwide at acommunitythrives.com.

Mosinee Athletic Complex, Field 2 project: The MCAA is currently building a softball/multi-use field that will used by youth girls softball, high school softball and youth baseball. This field is being built as we currently have a huge shortage of athletic fields in the Mosinee area. 18 teams share one field in our community. We are building a second field to give the girls an opportunity to play and practice more. The field will also be available for youth baseball to use.

Please consider donating towards this project, $1, $5, $10, $25, $50, or $100.

A great big thank you to the Green Bay Packers Foundation for supporting our athletic complex!
Mosinee Community Athletic Association receives grant from Green Bay Packer Foundation for Athletic Complex

Green Bay (12/17/13) – The Green Bay Packers Foundation on Tuesday awarded $500,000 to 188 civic and charitable groups throughout the state of Wisconsin in its annual distribution of grants. Charlie Lieb, chairman of the Foundation committee, made the announcement.
The Mosinee Community Athletic Association was selected by the Green Bay Packer foundation to receive funding for their athletic complex project. The MCAA will start construction on the project in 2014.
Of the Foundation’s contributions Tuesday, 53 grants – aggregating $142,050 – were awarded to Brown County organizations. Additional grants, totaling $357,950, were made to 135 other groups around the state.
The Foundation now has distributed more than $3.7 million for charitable purposes since it was established in 1986 by Judge Robert J. Parins, then president of the Packers Corporation, "as a vehicle to assure continued contributions to charity."
The grants and other programs highlighted Tuesday are two components of the Packers’ efforts in the community. The Packers’ community outreach department responded to more than 10,000 requests from organizations and individuals in 2013 with donated autographed items for fund-raising efforts that raised more than $3 million. These efforts, combined with direct cash donations by the Packers to various charity endeavors, resulted in a comprehensive Packers charity impact in excess of $6 million in the past year.
