Disc Golf Club at Illinois State University

This past weekend we competed in the Midwest Collegiate Takeover II. This was an amazing event right at our home course at Northwood park. For the D1 side our guys were able to take down 3rd place in teams, while took home the singles win in the most unbelievable way possible, ACING hole 1 at blues in the first hole of the playoff.

And in D3, was able to grab 2nd place and .comedy 3rd place in singles. Congrats boys great rounds!

While this weekend over didn’t go how we planned we still had a great time competing with such great competition and being a part of this awesome community.

Also want to give a big thanks to our sponsor for these sweet polos, the Birds look clean out there on the course.

And one last HUGE shoutout to who was the TD for this event. It was ran perfectly and we can’t wait to get back here next year!

Redbird SWEEP!

In D1 Singles Connor Willcoxen takes it down with a -9, 1007 rated round, and in D2 Derrek Thompson takes it down with a -6.

For the teams, D1 won in commanding fashion with a total of -35 and an 8 stroke margin over second. D2 pulled off a win as well shooting -23 for the weekend for the tournament sweep.

Amazing weekend for the Redbirds, we’re ready to roll going into Northwoods in 2 weeks.

2025 Collegiate Disc Golf National Championships!

While we may have not quite achieved the goals we set out for to begin the season there is still so much to be proud of with this group, what an incredible year for each team. A team finished 28th in the nation, B team finished T-17 and C team finished T-52.

In singles finishes with a -1, 1006 rated round, congrats on the team trophy!

Also want to give a huge thank you to all of our graduates: Sean, Ryan, Hayden and Nathan. You have helped shape the club into what it is now and we couldn’t be more proud to have you as a part of it.

Also thanks to our sponsor for their support all season long, and these sweet jerseys we got to rock.

Time to look forward to next season, it’s going to be a good one. Illinois State is a disc golf school.

Help Send the Illinois State Disc Golf Club to Nationals!

The Illinois State University Disc Golf Club is heading to Nationals in South Carolina this April, and we need your help to make it there!

Back in October, our club qualified for the College Disc Golf National Championship, and we’ve been grinding ever since. From early morning rounds to freezing cold practices, our D1, D2, and D3 teams have been working hard with one goal in mind: to represent Illinois State on the national stage and compete for a championship.

As a student-run club, we fund most of our travel and expenses ourselves. We have had some great fundraisers so far this year, and this is just the icing on the cake! Between transportation, lodging, and tournament fees, the costs add up fast—and that’s where you come in. Every donation, big or small, helps us take one step closer to Nationals.

Whether you’re a disc golfer, ISU alum, friend, family, or just someone who wants to support a passionate group of student-athletes chasing their dreams, we appreciate you. Your support means the world to us.

This past weekend we headed to Kentucky to compete in the Bluegrass Regional. Although it was snowing and cold we still had a great time getting to travel and compete, as well as tune up for Nationals.

Shout out to .brody for his 2nd place finish in Ma2 singles, great round! And the highest rated round on the weekend for the Redbirds.
