An agent from another team in your office wants to join yours. What are you allowed to tell them?
Nothing. Not compensation, not lead volume, not "you'd be a great fit." Nothing — until they've told their current team leader they're looking, and you've picked up the phone and confirmed that conversation actually happened.
I know it feels like overkill. But the reason isn't the agent. It's the other team leader. If you can honestly say "I didn't say a word, I read the script," you never become the snake in that story. And that label is what breaks brokerages — not the transfer.
Most offices have zero written policy on this. Then they wonder why one move turns into two years of tension.
Do you have this written down? Or is it handled case by case?
