Today the tmyc hosted the tax refund regatta seven skippers came out and participated in a one event completing 15 two lap races. John Pelosi became a new victoria owner today I helped him set up his remote for him. Most of you heard by now there was a couple of accidents at the pond today one was Rick and the trailer and Rick hurt his knee and the second accident while we are race a white tesla backed into Kevin bumper and almost backed in to Skip's vehicle so Skip decided to abandon that race to deal with the mess on shore.

This was Bruce Borror first regatta with his new victoria and continued sailing and getting better throughout the day. I (Jason) my sailing improved throughout the day. The wind was very light and out of the west and switching to the north quadrant so at times if was very flukey with 180 degrees wind shifts. Jacques graced use with his presence and was a spectator for most of the day.

I want to thank some people Skip Allen for being the PRO, my wife Brooke Troy being the score keeper and bring a tent for the event, Tom Rummage for cooking the pulled pork and bring the food for the event, Kevin Nice bring the dessert and Sodas and one of the tents and Mark Dickey for bring the waters for the event I have your cooler and will bring to the Star 45 regatta. Those Tents came in handy today. Dan Robinson for taking some photos in the afternoon when he showed up. Will Newton for making the trophies.

So back to the racing we had some very close racing today with alot of close finishes during the day. Rick sailed up to lunch time and dropped out for the afternoon part. We have a few people that got Bullets for the day Gerry had 8, Neil had 4, Jason had 2 and Tom had 1 for the day. So we even had a tie between 3rd and 4th place it came down to who had the most first places. These scores have two throw outs

1st place Gerry Cobley 21 points
2nd place Neil Saunders 28 points
3rd place Jason Troy 37 points
4th place Tom Rummage 37 points
5th place Kevin Nice 66 points
6th place Rick Ferguson 78 points
7th place Bruce Borror 91 points

Day one of the inaugural DF95 NC State Champion Regatta is complete with 14 races completed.

The wind did not want to play but after a slight delay, a light breeze settled in from the west and we got racing. The wind died off over lunch so Steve and Tony were on hot demand helping many of the skippers get their boats fine tuned. Racing got going again as the wind filled in until our 5 o’clock deadline.

Positons and points after 14 races attached. Racing has been close and finishes tight with 1st place changing hands through the day.

Lots of photos taken so keep an eye out for those.

Let’s see what day 2 brings. All to sail for.

14 DF95 Skippers over 2 days have battled it out on the waters of Lake Crabtree in Raleigh NC in the inaugural DF95 NC State Championships.
Day one saw us complete 14 races.
The wind did not want to play but after a slight delay, a light breeze settled in from the west and we got racing. The wind died off over lunch, so Steve and Tony were in hot demand helping many of the skippers get their boats fine-tuned. Racing got going again as the wind filled in until our 5 o’clock deadline.
At the end of Day One, there were only 4 points separating the Top 3.
Day 2 dawned with the wind swinging around to the East and filling in to give the skippers some great conditions.
The racing continued where we left off on Saturday, with tight racing, shifts playing a big part and the top 3 changing positions almost every race.
It literally came down to the last race were either Tony, Martin or Steve could take the honors. The final race top 6 positions were decided by less than few boat lengths and the top 3 were just inches !!!
A further 14 races were completed on Sunday to give us a total of 28 races completed across the 2 days.
In the end only 4 points separated 1st and second and 2 from 2nd to 3rd. Tony took honors with Martin in 2nd, Steve in 3rd, Chuck in 4th and Mike in 5th. Congratulations to all the other skippers as well for helping make the event a success.

Thank you to our visitors for traveling from far and near.
Jaques for being PRO.
Chris, Kelley and Amanda for keeping scores.
To Lake Crabtree Park for the use of the Park to host the regatta.

Photos to follow as we download and collate !!!
