This lady is holding 60 pounds of rich gold in quartz from the famous Round Mountain Mine in Nevada. She is an employee of the mine and the picture was taken for show. Two guys who were also employees helped her get into position and then the photo was taken. The mine produces hundreds of thousands of ounces of gold each year, though most is not this coarse specimen gold. The state of Nevada as a whole produces millions of ounces of gold every year. I'm 50 years old. The minimum wage was $2.10/hr when I was born. Gold was $139/ounce. Silver was $4.43. Rhodium was $375.

Gold went up 40 times. Silver went up 25 times. Rhodium went up 33 times. Housing prices went up 12 times.

I made $10/hr when I turned 18 in 1993. I made $20.50 at my last job I quit in July 2025 to go mining full-time.

My wages doubled but everything I buy costs 10 times more than when I was born.

The dollar lost 1.5% of it's value last Tuesday. That's Venezuela style hyperinflation. An annual value loss rate of 462%. I prefer people pay me in gold, silver and rhodium or other precious metals. Not Venmo. Not cash, PayPal or wire transfer. Cash will be toilet paper in your lifetime. Laugh at me if you want to, but I'm 50 and cash has lost 80% of it's value since I was born. I bought hamburgers for 29 cents at McDonald's in my college days. Now you can't get an extra pack of sauce for that. The same hamburger is now 15 times the price. I made $10/hr, could buy 29 cent hamburgers. My last job was $20.50/hr and a hamburger is $4.50. So no, you can keep your paper. I have very little use for it.
