Happy Monday!
Here is the schedule for Spring Session 2026. Please private message to check availability and claim a spot. Availability will change as spots fill and I'll try to update as much as possible.

Spring 2026 Session
6 Weeks Total
Weeks of April 10th thru May 21st

Mondays (April 13th thru May 18th):
3:45-4:45pm- Intermediate/Advanced FULL
4:45-5:45pm- Intermediate/Advanced FULL

Tuesdays (April 14th thru May 19th):
5-6pm- Advanced Beginner 1 spot open

Wednesdays (April 15th thru May 20th): 3:45-4:45pm- 1 Beginner/Advanced Beginner spots open
4:45-5:45pm- 1 Advanced Beginner/Intermediate spot open

Thursdays (April 24th thru May 22nd): 5:30-6:30pm- Intermediate 1 spot open

Fridays (April 10th thru May 15th):
3:45-4:45pm- Beginner FULL
4:45-5:45pm- Beginner FULL

*Cost is $210 total for session, per student, which needs to be paid in full by first lesson. Lesson will include grooming time, helping saddle and riding time. Required clothing to be worn at lessons includes ASTM/SEI helmet, NO BIKE HELMETS (you can borrow one from our barn or bring your own. They're sold in horse dept. at fleet farm), long pants (no windpants) and close toed Boots or Shoes.
If I would need to cancel a lesson time due to weather, I will offer an unmounted horsemanship lesson, or a makeup time if at all possible, or issue a refund for that time. If YOU cannot make a lesson for any reason, you will be allotted ONE makeup time per session with AT LEAST 24hrs ADVANCE NOTICE. If you do not give at least 24hr advance notice or miss more than one lesson time, there will NOT be a refund. Please plan ahead around your lesson time. If you are sick with fever, vomiting, etc please be respectful and do not come to your lesson and spread it to all of us. If you have questions on this policy please feel free to ask.

The crew took full advantage of the warmth last week! Little bits of spring training and slowly stretching those winter muscles. Plus LOTS of time just hanging out at the barn and soaking up the sunshine!

A winter struggle that happens occasionally but doesnt always get talked about: hoof ice balls. Its not quite as common on barefoot horses as it is with shod horses but it does still happen. As snow is compacted into the hoof it warms from the heat of the sole and then quickly refreezes into ice against the hoofwall. This process can continue to accumulate and create hard dangerous buildup.

Well yesterday Charlie had it really bad. He does have arthritis with his advanced age and this severe cold has been hard on that already. So when he was laying down in a pile of hay all morning yesterday in the -22* weather it wasnt a huge surprise to see him sunning himself. However at lunchtime we found he had huge ice balls stuck to his Hooves and he really couldn't stand/walk without quite a bit of pain. Carefully we chiseled out his Hooves and sprayed them with cooking spray (de-stick spray) to help prevent them from getting as bad and make it a little easier to pick out if it does rebuild.

Here it shows just how huge one of them was! A good 4inches thick on one side and 2ish on the other! Ouch! The flat side was against his sole and the part he was balancing on was rounded. So think walking on a frozen ball and how hard that is on joints. He got picked out again today and it wasnt as bad thanks to the de-stick spray hack. He is moving some better today after being so sore yesterday.

Brrrr!!!! Everyone is as ready as can be for the arctic weather here. They're always so cute in their blankies 🤣 can't help but give them all extra snuggles! ...OK I cant help it usually anyways! 😉🥰🐴 We hope everyone stays warm and cozy this weekend!

While I usually share some awesome student milestones and fun....today, I want to share some of the hard work and accomplishments of our GREAT horses during this BUSY 2025 year.
We all worked on such a wide range of skills, learned lots/tweaked skills, and had a bunch of fun competing in various disciplines from 4H, WSCA game shows, Youth Rodeo, Western and Ranch Pleasure, Horsemanship, Trail, Showmanship, Halter, and Western Dressage. They rocked this year and we're so proud of them!
