What is your reaction when you hit a shot you have NEVER hit before?! This was such a fun lesson with a client I haven’t worked with in over a year because he recently had back surgery. The goal was to enjoy what little golf season there is left by hitting better shots. The bar was low…and we CRUSHED it. The ONLY way he’s able to swing on plane in the downswing is by going outside in the takeaway - think ! Unorthodox but it works! Instead of weak, right fades that weren’t solid and didn’t go anywhere, he was hitting the ball solid and straight! Literally shots he had never hit in his entire life. Will this be a forever thing? Idk, we have all winter to work on it. But for the next couple of weeks, let’s play better golf and bring more enjoyment to the game!

One of our clients was featured in the latest issue of ! Veronica Barth was able to take her game to the next level with Coach Ashley Tait. She now has an established handicap, joined a golf league, and even has a Pro-Am tournament under her belt! Let’s keep it simple. This is an illustration of aimpoints using the cup and an imaginary golf ball as a reference for your starting line. This is NOT the golf ball you are hitting. In my opinion, we should never use your golf ball as a reference because too often we don’t strike the ball in the center or get it started on the correct line. These are only our AIMPOINTS. When someone tells you to play it one ball out, they are expecting you to visualize a golf ball and play to the outside of that golf ball. Same goes for one cup out - play to the outside of an imaginary cup. This is the terminology you will hear if you’ve ever played in a Pro-Am. And hopefully now, you’ll know what your pro is talking about!

Ball position discussion - here’s an easy way to remind yourself where the ball should be in your stance with each of your clubs. Longest club towards your front front foot, shortest closer to the back. Notice where we put the putter!
