🚨 RECORD VERIFICATION UPDATE 🚨

Following confirmation of verification, legitimate updates are being implemented. An updated record board is scheduled to be displayed by next week. Verification has confirmed all four members of the 2006 1600m relay team. Furthermore, verification has validated the 1988 girls' 800m relay team as school record holders with a time of 1:48.18. Can any individual provide information regarding the team members of this relay? The individual members of the 2005 boys' 3200m relay team have also been verified. Arrangements are underway to display a record board in the gym lobby to recognize these individuals. If you possess any additional helpful information, please share it with us.

More than seven years ago, one of the greatest hurdlers in Morris Boys Track and Field history solidified his legacy in Catoosa. Riley Pannell, the school record holder in both the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, captured the 2019 Class 3A Boys 300-meter hurdles state title with an official time of 39.74. A former State Champion and All-Stater, Pannell was also part of the state-qualifying 800-meter relay team that same season — a relay squad that still holds the school record today. Join us in reliving this golden moment and celebrating a performance that remains etched in Morris track and field history.

Morris track and field athletes had a come back story for the ages at the Regional Meet in Stroud.
🧨Starting off with our boys, Elijah Edwards showed up and showed out. He set personal records in all of his events, barely missing his ticket to state by mere inches. He jumped 18-18.75 in Long Jump, ran a 12.33 in the 100 Dash and 25.54 in the 200 dash.
🧨 Kean Richardson came prepared to battle and set new PR’s in the 400 run with a 1:04.38 and in the 800 with a 2:34.24.
The boys ended their season flying high, like an Eagle, with goals set for next season.

Our ladies were not going to be upstaged and came with gloves off.
🧨The 4x200 relay wanted to PR, and blew away the competition in their heat, running a 1:54.49.
🧨Our power house thrower Asiah Barnett, who has been sidelined all year from an extensive knee surgery was able to be cleared in the midnight hour. With 1️⃣ practice under her belt, she went in with unshakable faith and 🏅 in Shot Put, winning fifth and barely missed the mark for state. She also had an impressive showing in discus, winning 8th throwing 84 feet.
🧨 Sutton Giddens, started off her 100 hurdles running an 18.42, putting her in 8th place. Fighting off pain, she tightened her laces and ran her fastest time in the 300 hurdles, with a 50.18 taking home a medal for 6th place. Checking and rechecking scores, Coach Johnston checked scores and at 12:15 AM we found out SHE IS GOING TO STATE!!!
🧨Taylor Phillips was not gonna be left out and with more confidence than we have seen all year, she went into the Long Jump speaking in to existence she was jumping 17. She did not disappoint, surpassing her PR and goal, she jumped 17-2.75 making a name for herself, winning second, and SHE IS GOING TO STATE!!

We are incredibly proud of ALL of our athletes that have worked hard all season. It all came down to this and the determination and sacrifices paid off. What an incredible season. Sutton, Taylor, and their fans will travel to Catoosa, May 8-9, to compete in the 3A state meet.
