🔥 Stage 1 Fire Restrictions Begin May 21 on the Coconino National Forest 🔥
Due to increasingly dry conditions, rising temperatures, and elevated wildfire risk, the Coconino National Forest will enter **Stage 1 Fire Restrictions** beginning:
🗓️ Thursday, May 21, 2026
🕗 Effective at 8:00 a.m.
Under Stage 1 restrictions:
🚫 Campfires, charcoal, coal, and wood stoves are prohibited except within developed recreation sites
🚫 Smoking is prohibited except within an enclosed vehicle, building, or developed recreation site
✅ Propane/LPG devices are allowed only in cleared areas free of flammable materials within 3 feet of the device
These restrictions are intended to help prevent human-caused wildfires during dangerous fire weather conditions.
Please remember that restrictions can vary depending on the jurisdiction and may change as conditions evolve.
