Empire FC 2019-20 Fall Season
Registration link is now live. http://wv-empirefc.sportsaffinity.com/ During the Fall, it currently appears we will have teams in the U10 & U12 age groups. A schedule is being built for those age groups.
The first year of Empire FC proved to be challenging and rewarding at the same time. We are proud that in our first year of existence, we had a team finish as a Finalist in WV State Cup. And a team win their respective age group in President’s Cup - which was a “First Ever Occurrence” for a West Virginia Youth Soccer team! This is just the beginning of more exciting accomplishments.
As we move into the 2019-20 season, we wanted to pass on a couple of more changes in the natural progression of Empire FC. Due to the fact our FC33 jerseys are past their two year life span, when we order new sets this season you will be ordering an Empire FC jersey set. There will not be a need to have an FC33 Empire set and then separate Empire FC uniforms. Consolidation of uniforms will prove to be much easier for parents as well as players when joining various other teams in the club.
The model behind Empire FC is to be able to minimize some of the travel during the week for trainings. This foundational belief allows our players to first be able to train in their local markets, and then have other opportunities to train in neighboring communities. In addition to training in your “Empire FC - South” market (Elkins, Buckhannon, Philippi), we will also have combined trainings with the “Empire FC - North” teams in the Bridgeport area at multiple times in the season.
Combined trainings will allow the full Empire FC coaching staff the opportunity to work with all players, as they select players to be added to the Empire Elite Pool of players. These “Elite Pool” players will train once a week together, and will form various teams for different events throughout the year. In addition to having the Elite pool level, we will also be combining our other players in various events to insure that each player in the Empire FC group will receive individual development at levels appropriate for them.
When you do registration, you’ll commence in the same manner you did last year. First, you’ll sign up to the Empire FC club, and secondly then sign up in your local area. Those former FC33 players will sign up under the Empire FC - South (FC33 if it still appears at time of registration) and the former Mountain State players will sign up under the Empire FC - North tab.
Again, we are excited about how well our partnership with Mountain State, and VSA have started and look forward to developing more players and teams in the game we love.
