The Morgantown Redbirds 9U were on the road at the ALS/No Off-Season tournament in Tarentum, PA, last weekend.

The Birds were victorious against Beaver Valley Black 9U in game one on Saturday. The boys got on the board early thanks to a three-run homer from Gus R. (11). Morgantown collected 15 hits in the game with Finn C. (44) leading the team, going 4-4 at the plate. Pitching continued to look good for the Birds. Finn C. earned the win on the mound; Bryce P. (7) collected the save and Logan B. (99) threw two shutout innings in relief.

The Redbirds 9U had their first ever meeting against the 3B Barons Gallo 9U in the second game of the weekend. The Birds took the lead early and never trailed with Owen B. (17), Eli E. (2) and Finn C. each collecting multiple hits in the game. Jack P. (23) and Bryce P. each homered. Eli E. got the win, and Jack P. collected the save with Gus R. providing stellar relief innings for the Redbirds.

Morgantown lost to BMP 9U Gold on Sunday and ended the boys’ hopes of claiming the ALS/No Offseason tournament title. Shout out to Jack P. for his sixth-inning solo homerun to left field in the game.

The tournament didn’t end the way the players, coaches and fans would have liked, but the boys will be back on the field for an early Thursday morningshowdown against the Ole Liners 9U at the CAP Classic in Pittsburgh, PA.

🔥🏆 CHAMPIONS! 🏆🔥

The Morgantown Redbirds 8U went undefeated this weekend in the Appalachian Showdown Tournament in Morgantown! 💪⚾️

The bats were on fire Friday night as the Redbirds racked up 20 hits in an 11-5 win over the Morgantown Mambas, highlighted by a home run from Noah! 🔥

The momentum carried into Saturday where Easton crushed a grand slam, and Frankie & Clay each added home runs to power the Redbirds to a 14-2 victory over the Riverjaxx! 💣⚾️

Sunday kicked off with another big win over the Mon River Mudcats, setting up a championship rematch with the Riverjaxx. The Redbirds brought the heat one more time, tallying 16 hits with contributions from every player to secure the title! 🏆

Way to go, Redbirds! ❤️💙

The 10U Redbirds were in Bridgeport this past weekend for the 7th Annual Backyard Brawl 2, and brawl they did! FBX Southside got the jump on the Birds early in Game One, but the Birds came together and battled back to finish the game strong, winning by a score of 9-6. Momentum carried through to Game Two, as the Birds built an early lead against the Timber Rattlers. They survived a strong surge by the Timber Rattlers and managed to fight hard to avoid a loss - ending the game in a 10-10 tie.

Sunday started out rough for the Birds as the Jokers seemed to hold all the aces in the first game, soundly defeating them 17-8. Refusing to be held down, the Birds showed their teamwork and grit to overcome a point deficit and end the tournament with a 13-12 win against Hardcore Caraza.

The Birds celebrate the exceptional play of their teammate, Kingston Hughes, who had a great weekend highlighted by clutch plays at first and third bases, monster homers on both days, and the walk-off single that brought in the winning run against Hardcore. Well-done, Kingston!!!

The 10U Redbirds enter a new week of preparation with a renewed sense of “team” and cohesiveness, after having faced the adversity of a challenging weekend. They look forward to playing in the Dad’s Day Duel Classic in Trafford, PA this coming weekend!

⚾️ Redbirds 12U Tune-Up Complete! ⚾️

The Morgantown Redbirds 12U wrapped up a strong weekend of round-robin play in Morgantown, going 3-1 against some tough competition as they continue preparing for next week’s trip to Shipyard Park in Mount Pleasant, SC.

🔥 Results:

Peters Township Red – 18-3 W
Coyotes – 10-0 W
Cannon Mac Blue Blaze – 14-5 W
Fennell Brothers – 5-1 L

A few standout performances this weekend:

💣 💣Zach Meadows launched 2 home runs.
💣💣💣 Joseph Rhoades crushed 3 home runs.
🧤 Landon Potts came up big in right field with two outstanding defensive outs.

This weekend was all about sharpening our game against quality opponents, and the boys answered the challenge. Proud of the effort, energy, and teamwork all weekend long.

Our "On Deck" program focuses on more than just baseball. Young athletes will gain skills in:

✅ Punctuality
✅ Respect

All while building the fundamentals of the game in a fun, structured, and competitive environment.

👥 Age Group: Boys turning 8 before May 1, 2027

The Morgantown Redbirds 9U were back on the turf at the Bridge Sports Complex in Bridgeport for the BW3 Blazin’ Hot Summer Classic this past weekend.

The bats were as hot as the temperature as the Birds scored 15 runs in the top of the first inning on the way to a game-one win over TP Fury 9U. Landy O. (10) drove in four runs on two hits to lead the team. Eli E. (2) earned the win on the mound, giving up three hits and zero runs with Bodhi C. (24) collecting the save.

The Birds overcame a three-run deficit against the Garrett Timber Rattlers to win game two on Saturday. The hits came from up and down the lineup with Jack P. (23), Landry O., Isaac B. (4), Cree P. (13) and Finn C. (44) each posting two hits during the game. Finn C. earned the win, allowing six hits and three runs, while posting six Ks.

The Redbirds entered bracket play on Sunday as the one seed and again faced TP Fury. The Birds got on the board early and never trailed on their way to a shut-out win. Consistent hitting accounted for 14 hits in the game with Owen B. (17), Clayton T. (6), Gus R. (11) and Eli E. getting two hits each. Logan B. (99) earned the win, giving up three hits and zero runs over four innings. The righty struck out eight and walked two.

In the championship game, the Redbirds took the field against the Bridgeport Patriots 9U. The Patriots struck first and took an early 2-0 lead. The game was close until the Redbirds rallied in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring five runs on seven hits to take the lead. The Redbirds tallied 13 hits in the game with Eli E. leading the team with three RBIs and Finn C. leading with three hits. Clayton T. earned the win on the mound, allowing seven hits and striking out four. Jack P. provided outstanding pitching to close the game out and collected the save.

It was a great team effort all weekend long. Hats off to all the teams in the 9U division, and congratulations to the kids, the coaches and families for a great tournament run. Go Birds! See you in Tarentum, PA, next weekend.

The 10U Redbirds headed to Bridgeport this past weekend for the Blazin’ Summer Classic, sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings! Day one of pool play brought a matchup with a raucous and ready Morgantown Mambas team. A strong offensive performance propelled the Birds past the noise to a 12-6 win. Game 2 saw a rematch with Stallions Baseball, who had gained some tournament experience since they first faced the Birds in Morgantown. The game remained close but the Birds were able to outlast the Stallions on the way to a 5-4 win.

Entering championship Sunday as the 2-seed, the 10U Birds handily dispatched Alder Pioneers Red by a 9-1 margin in the quarterfinal. The semifinal brought a much-anticipated rematch with the WV Patriots. Strong defense by both squads kept the contest at a stalemate for most of the game, with the Redbirds not pulling ahead until the bottom of the 4th, giving them a 4-3 edge that they would hold on to for the victory. The tables were turned on the Redbirds in the championship game , however, as timely hits late in the game allowed the Outlaws to pull ahead to a 4-3 victory - once again relegating the Birds to a runner-up finish.

Despite another 2nd place finish, the 10U Redbirds continue to show grit and hard work as they fight for every single win. Their record improves to an impressive 29-7-1, with hopes of matching or beating their 46-13-1 record from last season. It’s back to the practice field this week in preparation for 7th Annual Backyard Brawl 2 in Bridgeport next weekend.
