CrossFit at its core is a strength and conditioning program on general physical preparedness. le would be everyday life. What it all comes down to is being healthy makes life a whole lot easier. To get started please stop by and watch one of our training sessions! The first thing you will notice when you come to CrossFit Unknown is that there are different ability levels, but everyone is working out together and being part of a team. Everyone will be doing functional movements that are natural, safe, essential and universal motor recruitment patterns. Besides getting fit and having fun while you workout, we want you to be strong, learn how to move your body well and learn how to Olympic weight lift. At this gym the main focus will be that you move well and correct. We will be spending lots of time on technique before going heavy. Our gym will be having people moving effectively and safely before adding load and intensity. As you start to get more effective with your movements, the intensity will be introduced, because as Greg Glassman said, “intensity gets you results.” Each day the movements that will be in the strength piece and in the workout will be coached to you. Each workout will be briefed and all the movements, lifts and loads will be scaled to fit your ability, so you will never be walking around at the gym wondering what you should be doing. You will not be expected to do something you are not capable of or not comfortable with. You are however, expected to move properly and give it you’re all. Grandma and an Olympic athlete do the same thing, just at a different degree of the person’s physical and psychological tolerances. By the end of this program you should be able to master speed, agility, power, balance, coordination, accuracy, stamina, flexibility, strength and endurance. Everyone and anyone is more than welcome to come to CrossFit Unknown and try out the 2 weeks free. You may be scared that you are not familiar with the movements, heck, you may not even know what the movements are, perfect! That is why you are here. We will always take members with zero experience because you are the most rewarding to work with. Working alongside other people will push you to your limits and results you never thought possible. Every workout done here will be against the clock in some way. The clock is an amazing tool to make people push to their limits, wanting to have the faster time they can possible have. Seeing all this is the most rewarding thing as a coach. World class fitness in 100 words:
“Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, no sugar. Keep intake levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and sn**ch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc. hard and fast, 5 or 6 days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patters as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense.
