Did you know ring-necked pheasants can run up to 10 miles per hour and often prefer running to flying when danger approaches? 🪶🌾

While they’re capable of explosive flights that can exceed 40 mph, pheasants will usually slip through cover on foot first, relying on tall grass and brush to stay hidden. It’s one of the reasons a good bird dog can be such a game changer in the field.

Their striking colors may make them easy to spot in photos, but in native cover, these birds are masters of blending into their surroundings.
