Howdy,
It is with great sorrow to say Coyote Valley Cowboys are dissolving. August 8th will be our last official CVC match.
CVC was started in 2010 when Bad Eye Bobolu had a vision of a cowboy shooting range at Coyote Valley Sporting Clays.
Bad Eye took that vision and went to Tom Ebert (original owner/founder of CVSC). Tom fell in love with Cowboy Action Shooting so much that he gave Bad Eye a stretch of land to start a club, and from there Little Creek was built with the support and experience from El Vaquero (aka Randy Moen).
Tom supported CVC by paying for anything we needed, including insurance, targets, and timers, for the last 15 years. Unlike most other clubs, all membership and match fees went directly to CVSC to offset his costs.
This system has worked well for the last 15 years. Sadly, in 2025 Tom passed away, and the CVSC was sold to a new owner group.

The new owners have decided they will no longer be supporting CVC as of January 2027, which means CVC must create our own LLC, provide our own insurance, file taxes, and take on all the responsibility of running a club.
CVC does not want to take on that responsibility, so we are closing up shop. Luckily for us, our good friends at Faultline Shooters Society are already an LLC and have their own insurance, so they will continue to not only run Cowboy Action Shooting matches on the 4th Sunday but also run a second match on the 2nd Saturday. This process should be seamless, and the good news is Little Creek Range will continue to have 2 shoots a month.
Starting in 2027, there will be no memberships paid to CVSC. Instead, they will charge a per-shooter fee for each shooter (maybe $30). Then, Faultline can collect membership fees to pay for insurance and other expenses.
Faultline will work with CVSC to firm up details for 2027 and beyond.
If you haven’t been out to Little Creek in a while, you will notice a lot of changes . The new owners are extending the bay walls and moving most of the cowboy facades back to make longer bays to accommodate other shooting groups.
Currently, set-up and take-down of our targets is more involved, but hopefully, we will have a permanent place to store all our targets.
August 8th will be the last official Coyote Valley Cowboys match.
We are planning on having a couple of special stage names to honor some of our members that have passed in the last few years, and one stage that our friend Claim Jumpin Wil wrote and requested we shoot at our August match,
So, all you old Cowboys and Cowgirls, dust off your boots and oil up your guns, and come out to Little Creek Range for our last shoot & BBQ before we ride off into the sunset.
Hopefully, we have more shooters than normal, so I would like to get a head count for the BBQ. If you think you will be coming, let me know.
Thank you,
RW Sloan
