Great finish to the Cross Country season. The boys did great at Nationals. All athletes are usually harder on themselves and expect more, but as a coach I am very proud where they finished. We had two kids PR their race, Owen and Charlie. We had another that placed in the top 75 in the Nation. Three of the boys it was their first time on a National stage with the top runners in the Nation. One of our runners was sick and throwing up all week until the day before the race. he arrived in Texas at 11pm Friday and ran the race Saturday at 1pm. He wasn’t even close to being where he was, but he still competed and placed in the top 30% of his race. Overall, this was a great finish to the cross country season. Even the runners who did not qualify for Nationals had a great season.

Great job today by Coyote Valley at the Regional Championship. All (6) boys move onto Nationals in two weeks. We had 3 top 5 finishes and 2 more top 10.

Coyotes had a great day at the Soquel meet. We had a great showing for all the ages.
9-10 year old boys: Andy placed 2nd overall and we had two in the top 11.
11-12 year old boys: Owen placed 5th overall and we had two in the top 12.
13-14 year old girls: waiting on final results but the 2 girls ran hard on a tough course. Over 300’ of elevation gain today for the 4k.
15-18 year old boys: Ambrose placed 2nd overall.

It was a really good day for the Coyotes on Sunday.

Gavin won the 4k race for the 13 and 14 year olds

Nils and Ambrose placed 2nd and 3rd for the 5k

Owen placed 2nd for the 3k in the 11-12 year old division. This was the largest race of the day with 48 runners.

Andy placed 2nd for the 3k in the 9-10 year old division. We had 3 runners place top 14 in this race.

Then we had another 4 runners place in the top 14. This was a tough course with lots of hills.

Cross Country season started and the team did amazing at their first meet in Hayward. The team has grown to 16 runners ranging from 6-15 years old. We had (4) top 5 finishes and (2) more in the top 10. Our 11-12 year old boys finished 2nd overall as a team. Great start to the 2022 season.

Another great meet for Coyote Valley yesterday. Every single runner placed in the top 10 and every single runner PR’d. The kids are ready for the big meet in Folsom next Sunday.

The team had another awesome meet and almost everyone PR’d. The two that didn’t beat their PR, tied their PR.
3k 9-10 year olds -Joey beat PR by 2 min
3k 11-12 year olds - Alma 7th place and beat PR by 13 seconds
3k 11-12 year olds - Owen 10th place and beat PR by 13 seconds
3k 11-12 year olds - Yoey beat PR by 3 min
4K 13-14 year olds - Gavin 6th place and tied PR
4K 13-14 year olds - Nils 11th place and tied PR
5k 15-17 year olds - Trini 4th place and beat PR by 2 min

Coyote Valley ended the points season on a strong note. Next up SF next weekend and then Folsom the week after.

2nd Cross Country meet of the season in the books. All the kids did awesome. I’m his was one of the toughest courses we will run this year with lots of hills. We had (3) runners place in the top 10 this weekend, but all of them had PR’s for their races.

Awesome meet today in Redding for our first meet of the season. All the runners placed in the top 10 for their perspective race.
Joey 8th - 9-10 year olds 3k
Owen 4th - 11-12 year olds 3k
Alma 6th - 11-12 year olds 3k
Gavin 3rd - 13-14 year olds 4K
Nils 9th - 13-14 year olds 4K

All the runners received Grand Prix points to start the season. All the runners have been working hard to get where they are today. Half of the team kept running through 2020 and into 2021, not missing a week.

One week until our first big meet. The team is running 3x a week and getting faster and faster. Each of them has improved almost 1 min for their perspective races since starting practices in August. I can’t wait to see them compete again. We didn’t have the entire team at practice today, but half of them showed up to an 8:30 practice at Harvey Bear.
