Great turnout at The Rowan County Sportsman’s Club Today For The Rowan County 4H Shoot. These Young Men And Women Put Up Great Scores. There were 99’s 98’s 97’s and 95’s broken in the 12-14 year old shooters and in the 15-18 years olds as well. Great scores put up for the younger shooters also. 48/50. 47/50 45/50. I didn’t get many pictures but I did get a few. Congratulations to everyone who shot today and The Rowan County 4H program for doing a great job taking care of the club!!

The Rowan County Sportsman’s Club Will Be Closed On August 16Th. The 21St Annual Cardinal Classic Will Be Shooting That Day In Marengo Ohio At The Cardinal Shooting Center The Club Will Also Be Closed On September The 6Th For The Luke Pierce Memorial Shoot At Mount Sterling And September The 20Th For The Middletown Fall Festival Shoot The Rowan County Sportsman’s Club Will Be Back To The Regular Schedule Shooting On Sunday’s After These Events Are Over. And Hopefully We Will Be Having A 100 Bird Race Of Our Own Sometime Between October And November. And Best Of Luck To Everyone Who May Attend Any Of These Events That I Have Mentioned!

Just wanted to let everyone know that came out and spent the day with us yesterday that we enjoyed having each and everyone of you. Big Congratulations To Ben Lewis and Jamie Bush on their 50 straight. Had a great turnout with 7 squads on the 25 high gun and 50 bird. Several 49’s were broke yesterday and Katy Coburn broke 48/50 for 3rd place she definitely put pressure on her Dad. Once again thanks to everyone that came out yesterday and we will see you this coming Sunday. And for the shooter’s going to the Grand this week. Good Luck to all of you!!!

The Rowan County Sportsman’s Club has lost a great man and Butch will be missed by so many people. He and my Dad did everything that they could do to make the club a great place to shoot. I grew up listening to the both of them laughing about anything and everything and I enjoyed every single second of listening to their conversations. I still remember the day that we had a registered shoot scheduled and it rained all day and only a few of us showed up so we decided to have some fun shooting from the porch and we talked Butch into shooting with us and he shot Wyatt Keller’s gun and beat Wyatt several times. He turns and looks at Wyatt and says. Son how do you ever miss with this gun. Wyatt just looked at him like you beat me with my own gun!! Later on he and Ed went home and we had fun picking at Wyatt. A couple weeks later Butch came out to the club one Sunday and Wyatt walks over and says you want a rematch Butch? Butch looks at him and says well my wife told me not to be beating up The little guy with his own gun today so don’t be shooting any today. And of course we all laughed and poked fun at Wyatt and he took it like a champ. Sorry for the long message but I wanted to let the people that didn’t know Butch. He could always make you laugh and put a smile on your face! Please keep Butch’s family in your prayers through these rough days ahead

These young men and women braved the heat yesterday at the Ky State Aims Event. It was the first time that Liam had ever shot in a 100 bird race and the event was a 200 event and he did great. Kane is in his first year of shooting trap and shot a different gun because his is down at the moment. Carter and Owen shot good scores yesterday and What about Katy. She didn’t only shoot yesterday she won pre sub and Lady 1. All of them did amazing yesterday in such a hot day. They don’t live in Rowan County but they shoot every week at The Rowan County Sportsman’s Club and we as a club are very happy to have them. Congratulations to each and every one of you that braved the heat at something you love to do. Good Luck At The Ky State Shoot this week Katy. Bring back some more trophies
