Looking to take the next step from diver to dive professional?
Our Divemaster program at Encounter SCUBA is built differently.
This isn’t a rushed “check-the-box” course designed to get you certified as fast as possible. It’s designed to develop confident, capable leaders who are truly ready to work in the dive industry.
Our next Divemaster program begins in just a few weeks and will run throughout the summer, giving candidates the opportunity to gain extensive real-world experience across multiple courses and training environments.
You’ll work directly alongside instructors in real classes with real students — not just simulated scenarios. Candidates will gain hands-on professional experience in classroom sessions, confined water/pool training, and open water environments while actively assisting with actual courses.
We intentionally keep class sizes small to maximize mentorship, instructor contact time, and real-world experience throughout the program.
Prerequisites:
• Minimum age: 18
• Current Rescue Diver certification (or equivalent)
• Current CPR & First Aid training within the past 24 months
• Medical clearance for diving
• Minimum 40 logged dives
During your training you’ll gain experience with:
• Assisting instructors during active courses
• Dive briefings and supervision
• Problem management and diver safety
• Skill demonstrations and workshops
• Professional dive operations
• Leadership development and diver management
• Real-world diving scenarios beyond minimum standards
• Classroom, pool/confined water, and open water instruction environments
Need prerequisites?
CPR, First Aid, and Rescue training can be bundled into your program if needed.
