From Donna~
How could a picture of two different ears of corn go so sideways? I was cussed and called some inappropriate, yet colorful things. Good job!
A picture of two ears of corn turned into a raging display of arrogance. I couldn’t believe my post had done this.
Being from southern Missouri, you can image this didn’t go too well with me. Leave this unanswered? You don’t know me at all.
Now I know that some people follow an outfitter’s page just to see if they have any big bucks. If yes, how can they hunt it? Is there public ground nearby? Surely they can hunt the property line? How about trespassing? Road hunting? It all happens. Our cameras pick up those guys too, and we absolutely press charges.
I know you’ll correct me if I’m wrong, but in Iowa, it is illegal to have your hunting stands and trail cameras up on PUBLIC PROPERTY this far in advance, but there they are. Right there on our property line for the game wardens to see. Our No Trespassing signs are also posted. Is your name on your stand? Supposed to be. You’re breaking the law.
Back to the corn picture~
The entire purpose was to show the big ear of corn in the food plot. We wish all of our corn was that big, but it isn’t, and yours isn’t either. The rudest comments came from “farmers". Prior to this, I thought better of them.
Steve wanted to check the moisture level of the corn on our northern Missouri farm.
He broke off a few ears, & ran it thru the tester. One ear laid untouched in his truck. Later on, he pulled one big ear of corn from a brand new IOWA foodplot. We are pretty proud of that new foodplot. This ground (which we do not own but I guess must be your business) has some areas that have not been in corn or beans for 35 years, but we have held the hunting rights on those acres all those 35 years. No, we don’t have land that we aren’t smart enough to farm, but thanks for that.
You were very angry with me for not explaining every little detail about these 2 ears of corn. Let's begin with this detail. Iowa ground does not always produce bigger crops than northern Missouri. You want details? Figure it out.
Here’s a surprise! Steve has farmed 50 plus years. He personally went thru the 80’s. Something many of you probably know nothing about. All you agronomist out there who said we are too stupid to farm. Well, Steve is educated in that area and in animal science as well.
We currently farm over 2000 acres and he has done so for the most part of 50 years.
So...Steve showed me 2 ears of corn. I said wow, took a picture and posted it. This corn was laid over flat once, but somehow it came back. To me, man's works cannot replicate what God can do. If you want I will happily discuss this topic in depth too. Might be good for you.
That's it. That's all, but social media brings out the ugly in a person's soul, and it certainly came out because of two ears of corn.
But what do I know? Well, I know that I was told that all of my posts were *F-ing* stupid. They probably are.
Who am I? I'm nobody. Just a career Branson musician/singer/ paramedic/ Realtor in Branson that had to learn how to drive tractors and combines. I know almost everything there is to know about deer hunting in the Midwest. I will tell you all about it, book it, and arrange everything for you. I have never killed a deer and I never will, but I’ll pray that our hunters do.
I'm who you were cussing out and calling stupid.
You have no plan on booking a hunt with us. Great!!! But others already have, and that's their food plot.
If I haven’t already blocked you for your arrogance, I’ll get around to it. Follow someone else. There are plenty, but they aren't us.

That's March corn! Tassels and silk. Steve's grandpa used to say the corn needed to be "knee high by the 4th of July." I think his grandpa would be proud.
