Women of the Match this weekend!

Starting this week we will be nominating our own “player of the week” (someone who we think exemplifies what this program is all about). Along with announcing the “women of the match” selected from the opposing team during the weekends.

Two of our seniors were selected this past weekend; Angelica Cabot (forwards) & Lauryn Nazareno (backs).

Another Weekend For The Books! 🤩

This past weekend our girls kicked off their home opener against UC Santa Cruz. Everyone did an amazing job on both sides of the pitch. After another series of 7’s (3 games & a half) - the Gaels finished off with a couple of wins. We appreciate all our supporters and spectators that came out! We hope to see you all again at upcoming games! Go Gaels! ❤️💙🏉

Weekend Highlight!

After a series of three games of 7s,
the girls were able to come home with a win. Our roster is only made up of rookies or returning 2nd year players - which let us learn a lot from the weekend! This game kicked off our spring season and has us more than excited to see what this group can do! Stay Tuned… 📺

Welcome Back & Happy Spring Semester! ☀️

For anyone who might not be sure what to bring to practice today, here is a list of things we hope helps (cleats & mouthguard are not mandatory for this week).

Today’s the first day of our “Open Try-Out” week! No experience is required. Please keep in mind this is not a traditional Try-Out, it’s just our way to encourage students to try rugby out! There’s no limit to our roster - we hope everyone comes out and joins. Can’t wait to see you all! 🏉

We’re Back & It’s Not Too Late…⏰

Join us as we host our first “Open Try-Outs” during the first week of school. We will be teaching the basic skills and rules of Rugby! In order to participate and attend practice you need to Register with our team, SMC Women’s Rugby, through the Club Athletics web page. If you are already on a club team, just make sure to also add yourself to our team roster on IM League - yes, you can play both sports! This is your chance to try something new with no final commitments. Bring a friend and we hope to see you there! 💙❤️
