"Women only" is a great marketing slogan. I understand all the reasons why this idea may be more comfortable for some. The reason "women only" is marketed heavily is because most facilities don't purposefully create a culture of respect, humility, and safety, so they create a separate class away from the guys who might be more into fighting. Often times fight culture is accompanied by the "locker room talk" and behavior you might expect. We foster a clean healthy and respectful culture. We aren't a "fight gym", but we teach you how to fight. The other thing to consider is that as a woman you're most likely going to have to defend yourself against a man, not a woman. So learning how to stay calm under pressure when dealing with a larger more aggressive and male opponent is what's going to save you - practice how you want to perform. But also, yes, we have very independent, confident, and ambitious women in our classes that will inspire and encourage you to expand your comfort zone!
