Heal Strong

Heal Strong As a personal trainer for over 15 years, I draw from a vast range of movement modalities to get you moving and feeling like you were meant to!

Do you want to.....Increase speed, agility + strength while decreasing pain and susceptibility to injury?..Feel revitalized + energized by your workouts instead of drained?..Move better, feel better, + achieve your goals whether it's weight loss or improving athletic ability? Whether you're a competitive athlete or just beginning your fitness journey, my multifaceted approach will get you th

ere efficiently and effectively. I draw from principles across a broad range of modalities such as yoga, gymnastics and Brazilian jiu jitsu to create targeted workouts that address functional mobility FIRST and help you achieve your goals. Most training programs focus on burning up a sweat while blindly building strength. This shotgun approach can sometimes work but developing strength + endurance without addressing function first is like putting a powerful engine in a car with no power steering. This approach is inefficient at best and can lead to crash and burn at worst. Using simple movements (running, crawling, jumping) that humans have been doing for thousands of years, I get my clients moving like they're meant to. I truly believe that our bodies should last a lifetime and that improper movement habits are getting in the way. By addressing functional mobility of joints and tendons through natural movement, I'm able to get you to move BETTER. This often overlooked idea is KEY to achieving common goals fitness and athletics. If other training programs have failed you, this could be why. Everything from weight loss to endurance and strength come naturally from addressing mobility first. It's like giving yourself a hardware upgrade so that your software processes more smoothly. Mobility literally reprograms your body to function more effectively. My philosophy:
As a personal trainer for over 15 years, I've traveled across the world training and learning from some of the best coaches in various movement disciplines. I've found that the best way to see lasting results is to make things simple. Getting healthy is not a competition. I'm passionate about cutting through all the bullsh*t and helping people become the best they can be. Results no matter your age or experience! All my workouts and exercises are catered to your individual ability and personal goals. This allows for safe progressions for those who may be less physically capable but also pushes high-level athletes to their limits with dynamic and skill based movements. I guarantee you will feel the progress or I will give you your money back.

Do you know what you can do in twenty minutes?

Tell me what your twenty minutes looks like — I read every one.

Most guys I talk to are waiting. For the calendar to open up, for the season to slow down, for the day they can train properly again. The full hour, the real program. And while they wait, it's been nothing. Not this week. Not last month.

Here's the thing your body actually cares about. Not the hour. The often.

Twenty minutes on the floor takes your hips through range the chair never asks for. It switches you into rest and digest, the branch that rebuilds you, and that one only runs when nothing feels urgent. And the math is kind of funny. Twenty minutes a day is over two hours a week. You said you couldn't find two.

Your body takes the shape it's asked to hold the longest. For most of us that's a chair. Twenty minutes a day is you asking for a different shape.

And it doesn't have to look like training. The floor while the coffee brews. The grass. The ground, wrestling your kid.

Stop waiting for the perfect hour. It's not coming, and you don't need it.

You've started making things easier on yourself.

Not in a way anyone would notice. You sit down to put your socks on now. You do half the yard and tell yourself you'll finish it tomorrow. You let her get ahead of you on the walk and catch up at the corner.

You haven't mentioned it to anybody. And somewhere along the way you decided that's just what fifty is.

It isn't. It's thirty pounds you can't account for, and a back that's been tight for two years that nobody has ever actually looked at. Both of those are fixable. Neither one fixes itself.

Here's the part most guys get wrong: they answer a stalled waist by adding more cardio and cutting food further. To a body that already feels under pressure that's more of the same signal, and it holds on harder.

Start with protein, a caffeine cut-off, and a fifteen minute walk after dinner. In that order.

Ten seconds isn't the target. It's the floor.

That's the number researchers use as a pass/fail, because below it starts predicting real problems. If you want to know where you actually stand, here's what average looks like for men, eyes open, best of three tries:

20s to 30s → 44 seconds
40s → 42 seconds
50s → 41 seconds
60s → 34 seconds
70s → 26 seconds

Read that again. The average man in his forties holds forty-two seconds. So if you wobbled out at fifteen and felt fine about clearing ten, you're at about a third of where your age group sits.

Then try it with your eyes closed. Average for a man in his forties is twelve seconds. Most guys get three. That one tells you something different, because with your eyes shut your brain loses the input it's been leaning on and has to use your feet instead. The gap between your two numbers is the thing worth working on.

Two notes so you're comparing fairly. Do it on a hard floor, not carpet, because a soft surface makes it harder and the numbers above were measured on firm ground. And those benchmark numbers come from a protocol with arms folded across the chest, on your dominant leg, which is slightly tighter than the arms-down version I'm doing here.

None of this is about balance for its own sake. It's the first place it shows up when your feet stop sending information. Cushioned shoes, ground that never changes, and nine hours in a chair will do that to anyone, and it's reversible at any age.

Post your number below, eyes open and eyes closed. I read them.

What is your morning wood telling you about your bloodwork?

It's the only readout your body runs for free, every night, and almost nobody reads the result.

It's pointing at six things. Your sleep, because morning er****ons ride REM and both broken sleep and untreated apnea cut it. Your blood vessels, because an er****on is blood flow and the arteries running it are a fraction the width of the ones feeding your heart, so narrowing shows there first. Your blood sugar, which damages the nerves that start the signal and the vessels that carry it out. Your free testosterone rather than your total, because SHBG decides the split and a man can sit mid-range and have almost nothing usable. Prolactin and thyroid, neither of which is on a standard physical. And your nervous system, which has veto power over the whole thing and which no blood panel measures.

Losing it isn't a fact of turning forty. It's information. Most standard panels were never built to chase it.

Comment LABS and I'll send you the exact panel worth asking for.

Your bloodwork came back normal and you still feel like garbage. Before you argue with the word normal, look at what they actually measured.

A standard physical runs a basic metabolic panel and a blood count. No free testosterone, the part your body can actually use. No SHBG. One thyroid marker out of three. Nothing for inflammation.

And the few they did run get read against a range built by testing a few thousand people and keeping the middle 95%. About 1 in 20 healthy men fall outside it by design. It describes who else got tested. It was never built to be your target.

So the report is accurate. It answered "is this common." You walked in asking "is this working for me."

One thing you can use today: go in the morning, and go fasted. An afternoon draw can hand you a number that's mostly the clock.

Comment LABS and I'll send you the panel worth asking for.

Most men come to peptides after everything else stopped working. The trouble is that "everything else" usually turns out to be four or five things nobody actually did.

A peptide is a signal amplifier. Amplify a system that's working and you get more of what's working. Amplify one running on coffee and good intentions and you get the dysfunction, faster.

Six honest ones: coffee is your energy plan, you've never held a training plan past week three, you eat differently every week and call it intuitive, your sleep plan is catching up on the weekend, your er****on plan came from a pharmacy, and you've got a stack picked out with no baseline labs.

None of them mean never. They mean not yet, and the not-yet list is free.

The field guide on what each peptide actually does, including when not to touch them, is free. DM me the word PEP on Instagram and I'll send it over.

I'm 44 and I've spent twenty years around this. The men who struggle with this one are almost never the weak ones. They're the ones who trained hard for two decades in a narrow range and never left it.

That's the part that stings. Your body didn't fail you. It did exactly what you trained it to do. You asked for a chair shape and a gym range, and it gave you both, and quietly returned everything you stopped using.

Fitness is specific. That's the bad news and it's also the whole way out, because specificity works in both directions.

You're not becoming your father.

You snapped at someone this week over nothing. And you've sat in the driveway an extra minute before going in, because some part of you already knew you didn't have it in you.

You didn't turn into anything. A short fuse isn't a personality. It's a body with no room left in it.

Here's what didn't fit in the reel. Your body doesn't take the all-clear from a good intention. It takes it from something physical, done on purpose. The guide is three of those, and the longest one is ten minutes. The one that matters most is just giving the day an ending, so your body finally hears that it's over.

That's not who you're becoming. That's what you're carrying. And load comes off.

Six things men tell me constantly, usually as six separate problems.

Heavy after meals. Bloated by noon. Never quite regular. Coffee to get things moving. Flat by three. Waking up tired after a full night in bed.

They aren't six problems. They're one, and it isn't your food.

Digestion is expensive. Your body only runs it when it believes nothing more urgent is happening. So think about where you actually were the last ten times you ate. In the car. At the desk. Four minutes between two calls, standing up. Every one of those reads as "not now," and the job quietly doesn't get done.

That's why eating clean never quite paid off the way it should have. You were optimising the plate. The plate was fine.

I did this for years and I was rigorous about it. More protein, more fiber, more supplements. None of it moved until I changed the state I was eating in.

Three or more sound like you? Come comment GUT on my Instagram and I'll send you the two-minute fix.

Thirty grams at breakfast. Forty after training. You hit the number every day and your body still acts like you didn't.

Here's the part nobody measures. Protein doesn't arrive as protein. It gets taken apart first, and that job depends on a system that quietly stops keeping up.

And here's the part almost nobody says out loud. Your body only runs that job when it feels safe. Eating in the car, at your desk, four minutes between two calls... your nervous system reads all of it as "not now", and quietly stops paying for digestion.

That heaviness an hour after a meal isn't fat. It's work that didn't get done.

I ate clean for years and was still backed up, gassy and flat by three. I didn't need more protein. I needed to fix what was handling it.

I put the two-minute test in a short guide. Comment GUT on my Instagram and I'll send it over.
